Nokia 6101

This phone is great. It has all the features you could ask for such as a camera, video camera and speakerphone. The only downside is that it does not have bluetooth. Although a model came out by Nokia called the 6103 which is exactly like this but has bluetooth capability. Other than that, this phone is very good on battery, good reception in even the faint areas, and has good voice quality like most Nokias are known for.

This is a simple phone. some things i like about this phone are..it has a decent camera (also has video option), you can also take pictures while the phone is closed of-course because of the nice front screen it also feels good in your hand (not to big not to small) and has great call quality (depending on your service provider). Things i disliked about the phone..not really much, my father doesnt have the greatest vision and is hard for him to see the time/date caller id etc...so there is no option to make the font larger. another thing is it does Not have BlueTooth! i use BlueTooth a lot and is very necessary for me. Over all this this a good phone depending on what you need it for =)

It was a great transaction, everything that was promised showed up and I liked how they sent everything in a timely manner. I disliked there being no phone box for the phone that was purchased though. I bought this product to replace a friends phone.

I bought this phone for my mother. She doesn't like messing with phones too much. She had been wanting a flip phone because she thinks it's too much trouble to unlock a phone before she can make a call, etc. She actually purchased another flip phone from T-Mobile but she didn't like it...she is only familiar with Nokia phones, so I bought her this phone for Mother's Day. She LOVES it. It's easy to use, it's a flip phone, it takes great pictures, the numbers and the screen are large, and it's a Nokia. My mother isn't really OLD, she just doesn't like messing with certain things too much. She wants everything to be simple and easy to use, and the Nokia 6101 is that, plus the camera is great, and it's just a really nice phone. I'm really glad I bought it for her because she really likes it. Now I want to 6102 with bluetooth, I thought about getting her one of those, but that's just too much for her to mess with...but not for me!

I love my Nokia 6101. It has all the features that I was looking for, radio, speakerphone, camera, video, internet, text & so much more. And it was not too expensive, right up my alley. My 19 yr old son borrows my phone, even though he has his own, to get the pleasure out of it.

Design

Nokia 6101 handset is a distinctive-looking clamshell. Measures 85 x 45 x 24 mm in size and weighing 97 grams, it is light and feels very slender despite its size.A secound 96 x 64 pixel, 4096 CSTN display dominates the front cover, and although not the clearest external display we've seen it is still quite functional.A perfectly adequate 65,000-color display is bright and crisp, and is a far step above the dim 4096-color versions on even the most recent Nokia models.The display resolution 128 x 160 pixel ideal for small and smart phone.

The left side of the unit holds a spacious volume rocker, while on the other side we find a dedicated camera button.There is nice LEDs which notify users of new messages, active network and missed calls. This is not common for all Nokia handsets and is not necessary to pick up and activate the device to see whether any alerts are waiting.

Ergonomics

The 6101 lies well in ones hand.Sporting a simple and user friendly menu in style with other recent Nokia handsets.The plastic keypad has very limited key travel and jiggles independently of the phone, with the shrunken center keys for no apparent reason, make the phone harder to dial than necessary.And last,but not least, a five-way navigation buttons centered below the display.

Features

In the WAN department, the 6101 boasts healthy support for Tri-band 900/1800/1900 MHz, as well as HSCSD, GPRS, SMS, and a range of applications such as WAP , Email client, Java MIDP 1.0, voice commands, Loud Speaker, all of which laptop and handheld users will be pleased to learn is a breeze to utilize either by means of infrared old wireless device,GPRS support is the fastest way to download files with your mobile, HSCSD support gives more speed when you browse with your mobile browser,and spacious phone book.

As previously mentioned, the 6101 is also equipped with a 1 megapixel camera support for picture-taking and audio/video recording, as well as an integrated MP3 player.The latter of which is also the reason for why the 0 MB of internal memory, which initially appears spacious, is quickly stretched to its limits. MP3 and MPEG4 are both formats which can be stored for playback on the Nokia 6101. The phone incidentally also offers up an integrated FM radio.

Unfortunately, neither Memory Stick Duo format or any other method of memory expansion is supported by the 6101, meaning users find themselves drawn by the MP3 playback capabilities will also quickly - and repeatedly - drawn to their PC and USB cable for updating ones playlist.

Performance

Audio quality on the 6101 was crystal clear, and signal quality was good. The removable 760 mAh Li-ion battery is rated for 2 hours talk time or 150 hours standby, which is quite low given the battery's theoretical capacity. Charge time is about 114 minutes.

Availability

The Nokia 6101 is now available throughout Europe in some language version.

Conclusion

Nokia 6101 is a beautiful phone to hold and use, and it's quickly won our hearts. The typical Nokia design flair is present in abundance, with all the requisite consumer features to back it up.But love doesn't notice such little flaws.

I love the condition in wich the celular was, and the seller is a very good one, but before a month I need to buy another one because the celular begin to fail. I lost my calls during the conversations. So I send it to my son in other state to see if it work better with him.

the reason why i bought it so i could have a better phone and also i wanted a new phone.
what i liked about the phone is that it was better than the phone i have right now.
what i disliked about it was that the phone was broken and the battery was able to use it.

I bought this phone because my other phone got water damaged. I either had to find a good used phone or buy one at retail cost. This phone is very good. The only thing I don't like about it is the fact that it only has two choices for ring tones. ery good condition for used. Nokia makes a great product. I am very satisfied.

Since this is a review of the product and not the seller... I am giving a review of poor. The product was in bad condition and I did not read well enough to know that it was broken in many places before I paid $40.00 for it. I later found at the store that they were selling the same phone for $50.00.
The phone was supposedly working when shipped. However, when it reached me. I took it out of the box and put in my card that worked in my phone and the phone would not even turn on. So, I was sorely disappointed in this product.

Service was great. All of my questions/emails were answered in timely manner and with full details.

Phone has lot of scratches on it. The listing said that it was used only for a week. And no other information was provided about the phone's physical condition.

Anyone in my situation would think, how many deep scratches would any new phone have if it's only used for a week? But I was wrong.

So, I just hope that sellers like this one, put more information upfront rather than leaving any ambiguity.

Phone worked find and everything, but I would have liked it in a better physical condition than what it came in.

I like the 6101 as it gets great reception for using T-mobile. It is not a heavy bulky phone. I like it for the flip. The only problem I have with the phone is the memory. I created my own ringtones and it can only handle several in MP3 format. It would probably hold more if I would shorten the songs. As for the phone I like it and purchased another one for my husband.
