Great, resilient little phone. My other son has had this particular one for some months and that's a record, considering he'e a real outdoor boy - being thrown into one sports bag or another!!
The Pros should be obvious: cheap, simple, effective, durable. It's certainly got that and that's why I use it. No frills, but good at what it does.
The Cons are little annoying things that can really get on the nerves: my buttons are edgy- sometimes pressing one doesn't register anything, sometimes pressing one makes it input the number twice! This is especially annoying because you don't want to look at the screen every time you dial - it's a cell phone, you're on the move! So every couple of calls you make a wrong call or dial an invalid number.
Secondly, to text message you have to "edit message" in order to type the text, and then exit that page, find the "edit recipients" page and put in names. If you press send immediately from the "edit message" page it tells you there are no recipients and makes you go find the "edit recipients" page. A smarter phone - and this isn't so complicated - would just take you directly to a screen where you can input recipients. This is an annoying feature of older Nokias.
Great no frills phone with super clarity and always has "bars" out the ying-yang. I had one of these a couple of years ago & regret"upgrading" to a clam shell camera phone.I was glad to find a new one for $40 on ebay to replace the broken, crappy camera phone. I May hunt for another for a spare.
This is simple phone, with the features you need and not much more.
The phone has a good phone book, and good calendar. It has a good speaker phone, and is simple to set to different locations. I use the silent and outdoor modes quite often. In the modes you can adjust both the phone ringer and the text message sound. There is a build in vibrator for the silent mode.
It has reasonable battery life and uses the standard Nokia charger.
While not a flip phone it has rather cheap covers and a keyboard lock that makes it quite easy to through into you pocket.
The battery is easy to change, and the phone charges quickly.
I lost my razr and bought this phone off of ebay as a replacement and I must say I think I like this phone better.
Pros -user interface is simpler and easier to use than the standard verizon one -very inexpensive -good reception -excellent battery life -keys are easier to press -screen text is large and easy to read
Cons -no cool features like camera, mp3 player, high-resolution screen -very basic design, nothing stylish and flashy
This was my replacement phone after I broke mine. This is a phone that works great until it's time for an upgrade. I did call verizon ahead of time to double check that this phone would work and they even approved of buying a phone on ebay because the huge price differance. This phone actually gets better reception in my house than my old phone, you can text message on it and that was all I needed. What I don't like about it is that there in no cover and the buttons are always getting pushed and I have to cancel it out. Not a big problem but it can get annoying. If you just need a basic phone for cheap like me this is it.
It got here on time, barely. But you never mentioned the lack of hard plastic keys and instead it has this flimsy plastic silliness that comes off rather easily. I would have liked to at least known.
The 6015i appealed to me because I have had good luck with Nokias and it is one of few tri-mode (analog capabilities) phones made for Verizon. I prefer a candy-bar over a clamshell phone. The screen and keypad are all a good size, and the phone is compact and light. Like many Nokias it's built like a tank; the replaceable outer case would have to be completely destroyed before the phone suffered any permanent damage. Reception is superior. The main drawback is that since this is an older phone, it lacks features such as a camera, MP3 support, or Bluetooth.
I bought this phone for my Aunt. It was exactly like her old phone that was damaged by a drop in the lake. She loved the large lettering on the screen and wanted a new one. Her cell phone dealer no longer sold that model or any like it, so I found one here and purchased it for her. She was so happy!!! Until the next day it started shutting off on her all by itself. She has to constantly check the phone to make sure it's still on. I wouldn't recomend it.
This is a great little phone, for what it is intended for. If you are looking for a feature rich, multi purpose, wake up and take you to work , phone this is not for you. If your looking for a functional, dependable phone for making phone calls, this is perfect.
I am very impressed with this fone. My other had broke and I needed a replacement fone and decided to try this one. It is very easy to use and the speaker fone works very well and comes in handy more often then I thought I would use it. I would definately buy this fone again. The sound is very clear and works great
I bought it through my account for someone else who had broke their phone and didn't have an upgrade coming. The phone was sold as Verizon but had to be reprogrammed by them b/c it was actually from another carrier. The person likes the phone but was sold with the description that it was a verizon phone. It was just a mess to fix.
Its very small and light, good battery life, not to expensive and the display screen is very bright but not bright enough to hurt the eyes. It is just right and i personally feel it is a great buy.
I bought this phone as a replacement for an LG that I broke. I only paid about $60 shipped on ebay for it. It gets good battery life and reception, and it has aged pretty well aesthetically too, in my opinion at least.
I had the same problem with the keyboard as tikeka1231. It was almost impossible to access my messages because of repeating numbers. I thought this problem was limited to my unit. However, the reception is better than all the other phones that I've owned through Verizon and give the phone a good rating for this reason.
I just bought a used one of these as a backup to my new one. I've only had mine a month so this may be a little premature. All I know is that I can send/receive from places my old Samsung couldn't. Voice dial works great as does the text display. Battery life appears to be good and there are no flex-circuits to worry about.
I hate this phone! I have had it for almost 2 years, and I can not wait for my contract to be up so I can get something that works! The button pad has had to be replaced because the buttons come off. I have to dial a number several different times for it to register, and then when it finally does register it dials the number 3 or 4 times. I HATE IT! It has been nothing less than a hassle. The only good thing about this phone is it saves your minutes because you can't get it to dial a number to save your life. If you do buy this phone, make sure everyone knows your number because you won't be able to call them! Do yourself a favor and pass this P.O.S. up. And if you already own one, I feel your pain.
This is a super phone - reliable, lightweight and with keypads you can actually see and use. I have two others in my business and I've never had a problem with either of them. Exceptional features not found in many higher-priced models.
For the price this is an excellent unit. I can be used for safety and security...and has some pretty neat features that some other upscale units have. It's also a great phone for prepay!
