Diddy + Biggie = Great CD

This is one of my favorite albums. With hit-makers such as The Notorious B.I.G., P. Diddy, The Lox, Mase, and Jay-Z, you can’t go wrong with this album. Both lyrical greatness and beat construction is showed off in this album, especially in “Victory” and “Been Around the World”. Songs such as “Can't Nobody Hold Me Down”, “Is This The End?” and “Senorita” present a different, yet likeable and catchy tune. “I'll Be Missing You” is an emotional song that really touches a lot of people. In conclusion, this album is definitely worth a listen.

Puff Daddy's No Way Out: It's A Hell Up In Harlem
Review created: 07/21/05
by: roheblius -- a member of Epinions

Pros:
A damn good collaboration of what the Biggie lead Bad Boy stable could do.

Cons:
Puff's rappin', the heavy samples, and most of the songs aren't lyrically about anything significant.

This album was supposed to be Bad Boy's celebration. With their stable of artists, lead by the popular and talented Notorious B. I. G., Puff Daddy was going to make some hits, have his fun in the sun as a rapper, and utilize this album to also show off his roster of talents like The Lox, Mase, and Black Rob. And Biggie was all for it. Biggie didn't mind Puffy's masquerade because in the end, it was all about the money. He wanted Puff to go get that money if he could, even if it was an untalented rapper playing off of huge beats and leaning on his roster for help. The way it turned out in the..

"It's All About The Benjamins" says it all
Review created: 06/28/03

Pros:
Some great songs (especially "Victory")

Cons:
Some horribly commercialized songs

The only real reason I wanted this CD was because of the track "Victory", which is one of my all time favorite songs. There were a few other good ones on this CD, but most of it seems to be commercial fillers. Here's the songs on the album and what I think of them. I had forgotten what some of the songs sounded like, so I left those blank. NO WAY OUT This was a short intro and prayer by Puff Daddy. For a prayer, it actually was a pretty good track. The synths that backed up the prayer were arranged very well. VICTORY Absolutely the best song on the album. Busta Rhyme's appearance in the...

More Ups and Downs than a Rollercoaster

Pros:
SOME original sounds, good beats, smooth lyrics

Cons:
several songs are just terrible, Puff Daddy's ego gets in the way

Puff Daddy and the Family's No Way Out cd is one of the best and worst rap cds of all time. The songs vary from great to boring so often that you're not sure if your listening to the same album the whole time. The three big hits of the album (Been Around the World, I'll be Missing You, and Can't Nobody Hold Me Down) are obviously the highlights of the cd, but several other songs, especially Victory and What you Gonna Do?, also get your blood pumping. By now you're saying, "This cd is great!!", but then the whole album comes into perspective. After jamming to a real great song, you feel the...

Pros:
He's a great producer!!

Cons:
He takes other artist's songs!

The great Puff Daddy, seems to love and be faithful to his girl Jenifer, loves his kids, and owns Bad Boy entertainment. These are many of the GREAT accomplishments he can add to his list, but what is his one and only fault in Hollywood??? Rapping. If you look at his rap style and beats he makes, anybody could be in his shoes right now,it's pointless to watch him take other artists songs and buy them out and seem like they are his songs. That is like me going into Wendy's asking for the recipie, and calling it my own after I make it. Anyone can do that. Lets use an example. Like his best...

  Musical Target Practice
Review created: 12/07/00
by: ratnarat -- a member of Epinions

Pros:
a bit catchy

Cons:
lame, low-quality, commercialized rap

At first, one would think this is a normal, boring, run-of-the-mill rap album. After all, they're a dime a dozen today. Listen closely, and you'll find there's something very, very wrong with it. There's a few catchy songs on it, but they're catchy for a reason. Every, single, last beat on this album has been ripped off from actual artists. He can't even come up with anything original. The song "Every step I take" is a rap version of The Police's "Every breath you take". Down to the last beat and chord. The rap is boring and commercial; Puff has dozens of rappers "featured" in his songs; they.
