I GIVE! Is this a serious musical recording or a spoof? It has a veneer of being authentic, with the big band sound and production and a few guest appearances by the original recording artists. Unfortunately, as either a serious recording or a joke it falls flat on it's face and the band marches over it. What am I talking about? Pat Boone, Arrrgh, that's who! Pat Boone has gone down a very strange route with this album, but he did this before Lounge Against The Machine released their first album, and for that I must give him credit. Besides, this is in fact more than just lounge music. This actually has some thumpin drums, loud trumpets, and great backup singers. He went the whole nine yards when producing this album. If you look at the booklet, there s an explanation of just where the idea for the album came from. Pat Boone is apparently an open-minded individual after all, and he simply wants to make his genre more accessible to metalheads. He...

I was just flipping through all my CD's when I came across this one. I had pretty much forgotten I even owned Pat Boone's No More Mr. Nice Guy. I received this as a gag gift from a friend of mine, listened and laughed to it once, played parts of it on several occasions for friends of mine to laugh at and goof on...and then I put it away and kind of forgot about it. What Pat Boone has done on this album is take a bunch of classic heavy metal rock songs and remake them. But not into a different rock version...he has remade them into swingy, jazz songs. Almost all the guitars have been taken out.
