Nintendo GameCube - Game console - platinum

I have a long line of Nintendo blood in me, so when the wave of next generation systems arrived a couple years ago – Xbox, Playsation 2 and Gamecube – I gravitated to the Gamecube because my affinity for Nintendo, Super Nintendo and Nintendo 64 lead me there. The system itself was pleasing – small, cute and new – and it rendered excellent graphics, came with a new and comfortable controller, and arrived amidst a flurry of rumored and expected game titles that would satisfy any Nintendo buff’s cravings… how could I resist another go with Donkey Kong, Mario, Zelda and the consistent multi-platform greats like Madden and EA?

Well, the trouble for me wasn’t the quality of the system or the graphics… rather, it was the lack of great games. Nintendo didn’t publish games at the rate that the others did – perhaps wanting to only release great ones – but whatever the reason was, the variety was lacking. This was massively disappointing considering that Nintendo has the best video game franchise possible – and they barely tapped into the potential… and that’s the word that represents the Nintendo Gamecube for me: potential. It had the potential to be great. To be the best. And the technology was capable. The games were the limiting factor though.

That said – while I wouldn’t recommend buying a new system in the stores – eBay does offer used systems and packages at such low prices that it is worth the purchase – especially if you pick up these games:

Cheap gamecubes, with PS3s and Xbox360s and even the Wii, there way too expensive. Gamecubes are cheap and have a huge library of games, what more do I need to say?

I can't complain about the price I got this for. It's not bad though the last time I played on a GameCube was a few years ago and it looked bigger than what it is now. Pretty cool to have just incase you play GameCube games on your Wii; you'll have this if your Wii ever breaks. This is an out of date system and you can get them real cheap so it's worth it.

The game play is pretty cool, the controls are better than the N64's obviously and the graphics are above average. I was told that this system would be picked out to be the best from the Xbox and PS2 days.

It just seems that the Nintendo system will always be in competition with Microsoft and Sony. And look who's winning... The Wii lol

I recommend this system if you like to play the classic games. If you don't want the system, you can always buy the games and play them on the Wii since it is backward compatible. All you'd need is an Official GameCube controller. I don't know if the Wiimotes or whatever work with GameCube games. You can get skins for the system too; to make it look more colorful.

First off I am writing this just because I want to address all of these people who are writing reviews about their eBay transaction with the seller versus a review about the actual GameCube. This is not where you leave feedback for the person you bought the console from. This is where you leave feedback for the actual console. I don't know if you can’t read or maybe you aren't very good with a computer or new to eBay, but it clearly says at the top to, "Tell us about this product and share your opinion with others".

For those of you who want to know if you should buy a GameCube or not I will tell you some pros and cons of buying one.

Pros: There are some classics for it (I.E. Zelda, Mario)
It is Cheap
Great system for kids
Compact and easy to carry around

Cons: It is a last generation system
Not many great third party games out for it
No online play

If you want to buy a system, but don’t want to spend a lot of money; then the GameCube is for you. Say you have young kids and they don't know the difference between the Wii and the GameCube; then the GameCube is for you. Say you like to stay behind in video game technology, and you’re still playing the Nintendo 64 everyday; then the GameCube is for you.

Despite many of the critics out there the GameCube is a good system. Its graphics are usually better than PS2, and usually behind the original XBOX. Its third party options are usually lacking and not as good as its counterparts, but it is also the only last generation system to be able to play some of the greatest games of all time (Zelda, Mario, etc). If you can't afford or just don’t want to spend the money on a Wii (which can play GameCube games) the GameCube is a good option.

Hubby purchased this preowned since we already have a Wii in one room on the Big Screen.He liked the game it came with = Wrestling. All works well.
I think he plays on this more than our child,lol :) This is good to have for Travel because you can take it with you,the games too.We have other GameCube games that can also be played on the Wii with the GameCube Controllers.We purchased a G-Pak Organizer to carry it all.Very convenient. This isn't so expensive New either.

Great deal, but both controller broke a week after buying. Had to go out and buy 2 new conrtollers because the 2 provied were cheap and one controller was not even shipped!

WE BOUGHT THIS FOR OUR SON, HE LOVES ANY KIND OF VIDEO GAMES. THE GAMES ARE REALLY EASY TO FIND ON EBAY AS WELL. THIS WAS A STEAL OF A DEAL.

The price of the Nintendo GameCube is affordable and it is well worth it. I purchased one at a great price for my nephews recently and they loved the console. The games that they can play on it are the games that most children enjoy, given that it has games like Super Smash Bros Melee, The Legend of Zelda, Mario Kart and many more for prices that are in affordable range. I recommend the Nintendo GameCube for anyone who wants to buy a game console that is affordable and especially if it is for children because the games are cheap, and the games it offers are the games they tend to enjoy. Nintendo GameCube also has a great line up of other games so its not just limited for children, but in my case my nephews loved it. Overall the console is a good buy in comparison to other game consoles which are so highly priced, and with the many line up of games, it is well worth the purchase.

I have not had any gaming device since 'Pong' came out in the 70's.

What to say about the Gamecube, well this system has redefined the Nintendo gaming world. It has brought back classics from previous systems, integrated four player action without needing an adapter and also integrated an HD output. One of the most powerful systems for its time and definetely a must have for kids and families alike!

I used to have one. I sold it because I didn't use it. I decided it was time for another. My kids and I love it!! Its so much fun. Plus, its way lest costly than a Wii or any other system. Plus, its so cute. The games are great, and there are so many. I love it love it love it!!!

Very nice looking,great game console. We own a Wii system but still the kids love to play with the GameCube also. So, because they are so cheap on Ebay I decided to purchase another platinum GameCube like the one I already have. Stylish and attractive, love the platinum color. Another plus is that the games are interchangeable with the two systems, GameCube & Wii.

The game cube was well represented and is good working order. Thanks, my kids love it! I like getting stuff from ebay that is actually in good working order so I dont have to deal with the return and such. If everyone did that I would buy everything on EBAY!

i wanted one of my own it plays fine but the apprearance was poor i had to clean it with windex. other than that is good and transaction was smooth
