Five girls go to a party to a nice house on a lakeside. Five girls disappear without a trace... Now another five girls go there, in order to spend the vacation with the Martins, the owners of the house, in particular with the lovely Ms. Martin. This time, you should not let them die a gruesome death! Because "nice people" can sometimes turn out to be... yes, that's right - vampires. The whole house is full of traps, that are intended to catch the poor innocent girls, so that the vampires can suck their blood... ugh. Luckily, the brave adventurer is there in order to cease to be hunted and to become a hunter instead! Set the traps so that they will capture the villains themselves, using precise timing and good organization.

"Night Trap" was the very first game that used the FMV (full-motion video) technology with live actors. Although it didn't contain nudity or particularly gory scenes, it was considered one of the first games to have a mature content.

Night Trap: - Diff'rent Strokes To Move the World!

Pros:
Campy Cheesy Fun

Cons:
Funny, But in a really bad way. Certainly not for everyone.

There was once a day when government didn't interfere with the video game industry as far as censoring goes. This all changed with the release of two games, the first being Mortal Kombat, and the second one being a little number called Night Trap. Because of these two games, a ratings board was established in order to "protect" gamers from games deemed to violent. While Mortal Kombat was going to be successful irregardless of the negative media that it recieved from this, Night Trap was a different story. The game was doomed to fail, as were most other games released on the ill-fated Sega CD..

  when censors got serious

Pros:
Highly collectable item (if it's the original).

Cons:
Was edited and re-released, but still hard to find.

Night Trap was taken off the market in the US because it showed too much violence toward women. I don't know what exactly they're talking about, it was pulled off the shelves so quickly that I never got to play it. It was later released again with the violence cut out. I believe the red boarder on the game cover means that it is the older, uncut version (but I'm not positive, the game should say if it is censored or not). If you can find the original, play it! See what all the fuss was about back in the day.
