Newsies (2002, DVD)

I love this movie...The first time I had it was on VHS as a child and I watched it till the tape started to fall out! So for me it held a lot of memories. If you are a musical fan this is a great one. Christian Bale is "cowboy" an orphan selling news papers in turn of the century New York where the quality of life is miserable for most. The music is great. The dancing is good and goes a long with the theme very well.

I loved this musical when I was younger and now my daughter gets to watch it too! Great film, highly recommended!

Bought it because my daughter is doing the song from the movie in her dance recital this year. She wanted to watch the movie so I figured it would be better to buy it. The seller was very prompt with shipment and provided a quaility product. We have enjoyed watching it several times. Thank you.

This one's got it all : A compelling story taken from real-life, a costume musical that shows off the period, and early appearances by some up-and-comers, including future Batman Christian Bale. I'm kind of surprised its only had the one release, and that Disney hasn't put it to the stage.

I first saw this movie in the 6th grade and I fell in love with it. I've been look to buy it ever since. Now, 7 years later I finally got it and I haven't stopped watching it since I opened my mail. It's wonderful.

I was thrilled to find this on DVD for my daughters--they absolutely love this movie. I was afraid that it would be hard to find on DVD because of its age so I thought I'd give ebay a try and of course, I was not disappointed. It was a great surprise for my girls on Christmas morning! Thanks ebay!

This is one of the greatest movies of all times, A true classic. You will not be disapointed! I saw the movie when I was 11 (I am 25 now) and still remember how great it was!

Music is great. Christian Bales acting is super. For someone who is from England he sure knows how to a New Yorker. Great family entertainment.

I bought Newsies in the DVD form, I already had it in VHS but with new technology wanted to update. We have enjoyed this movie and have watched it many times over the past ten years. I now want to share it with my grandchildren. One of the best movies of all time. Something to be enjoyed by the entire family.

My daughter, age 14, just LOVES this DVD. She plays it over & over. It's a musical and dance movie. Same director as High School Musical, which she also loves. Newsies is wholesome and historical as well as entertaining. I would HIGHLY recommend this movie. Would like to see more movies like this one.

Newsies is one of Disney's unknown classics. I had not even heard of it till i was at camp last year, and the girls in the cabin had the soundtrack and knew all the words to every song. I was curious and rented it and was hooked, it's a really good story and I love the music. I just had to own it and found it at a great price. I think anyone who loves musicals should watch this, and spread the word, "And the world will know!" (watch it and you'll get it)

My husband and I have wanted this movie for a while, but couldn't find it in stores. I bought it for his birthday, and he was really excited. He's not a huge fan of musicals, but he really likes Newsies because it's not your typical cheesy musical. It's a clean movie, with a good moral, which is one of my favorite things about it. There's a little bit of history mixed in, the cast is talented, the story is fun, the dancing is good, and the songs are pretty catchy. There isn't anything I don't like about this movie.. I take that back, the sister kind of bugs me, but other than that it's a great movie and I think everyone should have it in thier collection.

There is just something about this movie. When I was younger, it was because of all the singing and the cute boys. Now it is a part of me, and the story is great! I'm sorry it did not do well in the theaters, but it definitely has a following, and when you watch it, you will know why. I love this movie. It's a very clean movie for my daughter to watch when she becomes of age (She is 2 months old), and I hope she likes it as much as I do.

This movie is so cheesy and so full of 80s-musical song cues, it's impossible not to love it. Christian Bale, David Moscow, Max Casella, Gabriel Damon and Bill Pullman are all fabulous, the songs are infectiously catchy and the dancing is incredible.

Whether you're a fan of musicals, an adult with kids, or a "when they were kids" movie star far, you will enojoy this film.
