I have been playing the Need for Speed games since Hot Pursuit was released way back in the late 90s and this was surprisingly the best one I played in a while!
I almost gave up on the series after the last two titles just seemed like exact copies of each other, rehashing the same old thing but the Wii saved this franchise for me and gave it new life with the cool steering controls. It was so much fun holding the joystick like a steering wheel and steering away... it give you a greater feeling of control.
The game also delivered on so many levels with cool tracks and fair competition (none of the opponents were too easy nor were they overly hard).
This is definitely a must buy for any Wii owner! EA Delivered on this one!
I rented this game and I have 5 words to sum it up............... (I HATE THIS STUPID GAME!) The graphics are good, the car selection is good, but the racing STINKS! You cannot correct the car after making a turn without the car spinning out of control. I made very few correct turns without crashing into a wall, and I never could figure out how I did it. The game has the potential to be a good game but it has fallen WAY short. I never get mad at a video game(just frustrated) but when I played this game I found myself wanting to throw my Wii remote through the TV. I highly discourage you from buying this game if you don't adapt to the playing style within 2 years, or if you have a bad temper. Of all the Need for Speed games this one was really disappointing.
Better on the computer. If you could use the classic remote for games like this that would be great. Don't know if its just me or maybe I need a wheel, but this wasn't good for the wii.
At first, I was using the wii remote as a steering wheel. For me, this makes driving almost impossible, even with a steering wheel attachment, but this may be my own failings!?!
In the end, I found the different options for controls and gave them all a try and each will off course be preferred by different people.
The game play is excellent once you have your controls setup just how u like them.
Need for Speed Carbon is very similar to the others that have preceded it (from NFSU2 onwards) but like each incarnation, it just seems that much better than the one you played before!
If you like exotic cars, this has a wide range to choose from and the career mode has a nice storyline to it.
I've been playing this game for about 10 hours right now and I have to it's pretty similar to the other need for speed games. Unfortunately that's the type of game I like so I give this game a good rating. The controls are pretty decent. You can tweak the controls and I recommend not using the default ones. It feels really dumb that way. Add the NunChuck remote in and choose 2,3,4 under control options. You can also tighten or loosen the steering with the nunchuck to fit your play style. It's fun learning the new controls and the steering isn't too bad. Drifting will be your number one trouble. It's too difficult with the controller. All in all it's fun and entertaining especially if your a fan of Need4Speed.
I can only give it a good rating since it got really boring once you get the hand of the wii controls. I mean it has pretty good graphics and the movement of the cars can be smooth if you do it right. It is a pretty good game. If you don't get tired of racing down the streets tackling insane races then this is the game for you.
I like the concept of moving the remote as a steering wheel. That is sorta neat. But it gets old real quick. The concept of the game is somewut fast and the furious, sorta a knock off of the game juiced. This game is fun, I recommend not buying it, maybe just rent it at blockbuster or something and play it for 1 or 2 days. Then you probably will get bored wit hit.
This racing game is very fun to play and if you love the need for speed series you wont be dissapointed. The unique wiimote controller makes the game feel different and pretty cool to play. There are many upgrades avilable for your car and many cards to choose from as the game advances. It could have been better if there was some online multiplayer and stuff like that but the career mode is still fun to play and will keep you driving for hours with many many races to go through. This game is one of the few racing games for the wii right now so i would definitely recommend it to racing fans.
Ah the first racing experience I have had on the Wii. Turn your controller sideways and tilt to steer.
I have never played any of the Need for Speed games before so I was not sure what to expect. I have played racing games so I knew what I was in for.
I played a bit and found the controls either over sensitive or under responsive, depending on the situation you were in. It took me 40 min to pass the first "race into town" level. :P
The game play seems to pick up from a previous title in the series. "After what you pulled I'm surprised to see you back". Um, what did I pull? Was I here before?
I found that the graphics were ok but the controls were a bit lacking. Never did get into the game.
