National Treasure (2005, DVD)

This is truly an outstanding movie. Once you start it you won't want to stop it. This movie incorporates many historical riddles and is filled with a lot of action. Benjamin Gates (Nicolas Cage) is looking for a treasure using a clue passed down his family from generation to generation. He solves the first clue which leads him to steel the most important document in American history: the Declaration of Independence. Want to make the plot even more suspensful. one of his former buddies, has gone against him and he too wants to steel the Declaration and find the treausure. Who will steel the Declaration? What will happen to it? And is there even a treasure at all? This movie is one of the most suspenseful movies ever and I highly recommend it.

The movie was great, I saw National Treasure 2 also, but I think this one was better. Just this past weekend I went to Washington DC and got a chance to see the National Archives Museum. That was very interesting. The whole movie makes you want to see the real thing, you go to the Rotunda in DC, and imagine clips from the movie. A great movie, and a good way to len about our Goverment and all its "Treasures."

This is one of the best movies I have seen. it is full of suspense and excitement.I want to get the second one that I have already seen altho it is not as suspenseful as the first one. not so manyclues to figure out.

I bought a "mint condition" dvd from this seller. However it arrived with no case, but a promise that he would try to find it. After waiting for the case I contacted the seller for a 50% refund he refused but offered a clear plastic case. This leads me to suspect that I may now own a BOOT LEG copy of this dvd.

I opened a claim with paypal still asking for only a 50% refund which the seller declined and offered a full refund only if I returned the dvd. Sadly, I was out of town when this demand occured and the time limit has expired. Lucky for the seller.

I STRONGLY DISCOURAGE business with this seller as he also became very rude and belligerent once I challenged him on his mistake. He told me I had no claim for a refund and tried to scare me out of doing anything about the problem.

Nicholas Cage, 1 0f the New Breed of Multi-faceted Actors. This movie has it all, Action,Suspence,Twists & Turns,Humor & a Great Love Interest.Movie where the Good Guy is Good & Bad Guys are Bad,but still kinda likeable.Would have liked to see more of the Treasure though.

Quick and easy transaction. The movie plays great and had no damage. My family and I really enjoyed the movie.

this is a great movie. there is nothing to dislike. if you like treasure hunting and history this is the movie to get. i loved this movie because i always wanted to go on a treasure hunt like that. if you haven't already seen the movie, this is a must see and get movie. jerry bruckheimer is great at what he does. who wouldn't want to go on a hunt like that.

Funny, intelligent and crammed with action.... a great movie that you want to see again and again! Highly recommended.

The Social Science Department has shown this movie in school and it was very interesting. After watching it, It have decided to purchase it. Since I was unable to find it at Columbia House I looked for it on e-bay. Everything is always available on e-bay. It is also a great movie.

I love to think deep and this movie made me do just that. As my brother always reminded me, "everything is possible, perhaps it is improbable". So, that's what I thought of through this movie; I know it isn't a true movie, but couldn't some of the fantastic ideas be real? Of course!!
Very enjoyable, somewhat comedic in places.... recommend to anyone with any measurable imagination!!

I am not a fan of Nicolas Cage. As a romantic lead - not realistic. As a scientist who has a brain and uses it - fantastic.

The more Cage downplayed his role, the more realistic he became.

I am a fan of history and this movie was very satisfying from that vantage point.

Cage's love interest, Diane Kruger, is whiney and spoiled, but gets the job done. The movie would have been better had this story NOT developed a romantic angle. The fact she is a fresh face helped sell her portrayal.

The Brits (Sean Bean)and Scots are perfect as bad guys. Even though they are "bad", you want to hug 'em. They have a wonderful sense of humor. They make the show, along with the spectacular real scenery and Cage's side-kick.

Jon Voight is good, but the elderly actor portraying HIS father was perfect. Hope to see LOTS more of this elderly actor.

For ONCE, Harvey Keitel does not use filthy language to sell his performance. His fondness for inserting the "F" word in numerous parts of every sentence is fatuous and detracts from his credibility as a professional.

Keitel was mis-cast; as he has portrayed cops, ad-nauseum. Producers needed a fresh face to bring authenticity to this lead cop role.

Viewers watch the actual "real life" historical sites in National Treasure - a REAL added bonus to folks who have never visited the East Coast.

You WILL definitely be on the edge of your seat; except when the hard core, militarily trained, scientist goes all wobbly in the middle of his life-long goal to fixate on the pretty face.

The next National Treasure is coming out in May - can't wait to buy it!
