Title:
Namco Museum Volume 3 – PS1/PS2 – Greatest Hits – Namco
Rating: E (animated comic mischief)

Introduction:
Relive the arcade gaming experience of days gone by at home on your Playstation console. Games included: Galaxian, Ms. Pac-Man, Pole Position II, Dig-Dug, Phozon, and The Tower of Druaga.

Plot:
The Tower of Druaga – Maze action game with a bird’s eye view perspective. Help Prince Gilgamesh rescue Ki from Druaga. Fight monsters and slimes using the items you find along the way.
Phozon – You are a black molecule with four red spikes. Collect floating molecules onto yourself in an ever increasingly complex pattern. Quite possibly the great-grandfather to today’s Katamari Damacy.
Dig-Dug – Dig tunnels through the dirt to avoid your enemies. When faced with an enemy, inflate them with air until the pop. Once all the enemies on the screen have been destroyed you level up.
Pole Position II – Formula 1 racing game with four track selections. Avoid assorted obstacles on different courses. Going off of the track results in a fiery play-end crash.
Ms. Pac-Man – Move through the maze and eat all the dots while avoiding the four ghosts. Eat the power pellets to turn the ghosts blue and eat them. Bonus points are awarded for eating the miscellaneous fruit that appears on the board. Level up once all the dots have been eaten.
Galaxian – first ever color video game. Shoot aliens out of the sky and protect your ship. The aliens increase speed as you progress through the game.

Gameplay:
The earlier arcade titles are fairly straightforward in game play, which has not changed since these games first came out in the early 1980’s. Originally designed for the arcade style controller, the controls translate easily into the Playstation controller. Using the analog stick helps recreate the arcade experience when playing Ms. Pac-Man and Pole Position 2.

Pros:
You can set the difficult level for each game, allocate the number of lives per player and game, making it easier for younger gamers to stay in the game longer without throwing the controller at the wall in frustration! This collection of games features all of the original graphics and sounds of the arcade originals.

Conclusion:
If you want to take a trip down memory lane, or introduce young children to the world of gaming without having to be concerned about appropriate content, Namco Museum vol 3 is an excellent choice. Perfect for grade-schoolers and grown-ups alike.

If you like this you will like:
Atari Flashback, Namco Museum Volume 1, Midway Arcade Treasure vol 2, and Pac-Man Plug & Play

I love playing the old games that I grew up with. This variety is wonderful and you will remember the challenges that you had playing these games years ago. If you like the classics this game is for you.

 game for the ps2
Review created: 02/13/08

the game has 6 different games you can play. Fun game for all to play. I bought this game to get away from some of the high blood and gore stuff that is out on the market today. I have 12 grandchildren and they are under the age of 7. Thought this would be a good game for them. They enjoy playing the different types of games on here. They can be for a boy or a girl.

 Great game from the past
Review created: 02/12/08

The games on here will bring back the good old day of atari when you had the low resolution to the games but now they have been brought up to date. The graphics and sounds are genuine to the games of old. Would tell anyone that loves the old atari games to definitely buy this one.

 Volume 3 is disappointing
Review created: 11/25/07

The games themselves are great and play just like they did in the arcade. It's difficult for me to explain precisely what I don't like about the method of quitting or switching games but it's isn't good. The menu for options or quitting a game (and starting a different game) is ONLY available from each games title screen. that means that in order to play a different game you have to lose all your lives first, you can't just press the select button and quit the game. STUPID IDEA. But as I said, the games themselves are great.

6 games on 1 disc cannot save this disaster

Pros:
Maybe an hour of fun.

Cons:
Bad graphics, sound, controls, and gameplay.

When I go to movies, sometimes I throw a quarter in an arcade game and play a game of Galaxian, (it s the game where you are the little gun at the bottom of the screen, and you shoot the enemies that are above you) to see if I can get my name up on the high score list. Sometimes while I am playing these games I think to myself, wouldn t it be great if I could play this game forever, and not have to spend all of this money on it? It would be so great if you could just pay a price and play the game forever. Well it just so happens that I was looking at some old Playstation games at a store and..

"Pop and Kill the Enemies or Crush them with rocks" (niiiice)
Review created: 07/07/01

Pros:
Hey, it's fun reliving our wild and reckless youth!

Cons:
These games aren't quite as graphically thrilling as today's.

Ah, yes. Such lovely instructions for a seemingly innocent game from my youth; DIG DUG! Now that I have my 9 year old hooked we can duke it out in the underground tunnels, using our 'pumps' to inflate and pop our enemies and seek the high score award of the day. Dig Dug is just one of six great classic games in Namco Museum's Third Volume for Playstation. In addition to Dig Dug (with a tip of my hat to Repulsemonkey for bringing up this great game in a comment on an earlier review!) the CD includes Ms. Pac Man (my wife's personal favorite), Galaxian, Pole Position II, The Tower of Druaga, and.

Pros:
Mrs. Pac Man

Galaxian
Cons:
Museum Mode

The other 4 games aren't that good

Ouch, history can hurt. Especially the second time around. And that s what the Namco Museum Vol 3 is all about, to sound like an old man, When I was a kid, we didn t have graphics, we had imagination. Well, that sums up Namco Museum, When I was a kid. First off, can you say Atari? If you can, did you know that Atari was originally followed by numbers like 2600? That s right, the games on here are all about the ancient Atari and early 80 s. Even your first NES games (which were released in about 1985) look better than the original arcade formats of these Namco titles, so I don t recommend...

Pros:
brings back memories of old games

Cons:
could be more challenging but oh well

Way way back in the olden days before PlayStation was thought of was a game called Ms. Pac Man. Namco Museum Volume III for PlayStation is a compilation of oldie moldy arcade games from long long ago. I purchased this PlayStation game back in March of 1999 for 20$. There are 6 different games on this one cd. Compared to prices of 50$ and 60$, for some games, this 6-game c.d. is worth the price. There is a first floor and a second floor on this NamcoMuseum Volume III. **First Floor is the reception area and saving high scores. Also a game room, library and theater. **Second floor are where the.

Old Atari Games Brought Back To Life In The 90 s!
Review created: 05/24/00
by: ChriseyB -- a member of Epinions

Pros:
Has some of the 80's most beloved games on 1 CD...

Cons:
None

When I was younger, my parents bought me an Atari video game console with many games. One of the games purchased was Ms. Pac-Man. Even though the graphics do not compare to video games today, it was still a fun game. When my Atari up and died after many years of fun game play, I was heart broken because the only time that I would now be able to play Ms. Pac-Man was if I feed quarters into a machine at an arcade. Talk about depressing. Well thanks to Namco and Sony Playstation, the classic Ms. Pac-Man is back along with a few friends. Namco Museum Volume III is a CD that consists of 6 very...
