Unbelievable realism. The graphics and game play are excellent!! A must have for hockey fans!! The uniforms equipment and facilities are all authentic.Take full control of the puck as you excute signature moves and create highlight reel goals like an NHL® All-Star.Movement on the ice is more intuitive than ever-skate and deke with the left analog stick to outmaneuver and outperform opponents.Feel what it's like to be on the ice-generate momentum to initiate speed bursts then fly past defensemen, leaving real-time ice trails in your wake.

As my team just got blow out by Edmonton yesterday, I think it is safe for me to write a review about this much loved series.
This is the 2006 version of EA NHL - This is in the 8 years (and hopefully counting - I get this game every year..)
Okay. The Good - graphic is fair, sound is fair (although I still kinda missed those colour comments from 3 years ago.. those comments were a riot) Easy control with either a pad or keyboard. Pretty much what you can expect from an average EA game.
The Bad - oh boy... the A.I. this year seem to "cheat".. the higher the level of difficulties, the harder you can score - even if you have an all star team.
This is a problem that was well documented by a few gaming magazines and I second to that observation.
The ugly - They really need to updated their graphic engines.. clean it up a bit as it looks the same as 2 years ago. Then there are the fights... there are no real choices on which player you can start a fight with or pick a fight with. Heck, I can't even get Bertuzzi angry no matter how many times I board him!
Anyway, conclusion is this - if you need your hockey fix and don't have any other system beside your PC - This is a good game to start.. But if you have a PS2 or Xbox - get the NHL 2k6 for some real game.
Still nothing beats watching the real thing... although the 50-bucks-a-game would really den your wallet in the long run... ^_^;
