Clint Eastwood has been an actor for years. Later in his career, he started to direct as well. He has directed several movies, and won the Oscar for best director for his work on Unforgiven. In the fall of 2003, his newest movie, Mystic River was released. Dave, Jimmy, and Sean were playing street hockey. They lost their ball down the sewer and were writing their names in wet cement when a car drove up. A man got out, claiming to be a cop. I was not really interested in Mystic River when it first hit the theaters. To tell you the truth, I didn t actually hear a lot about the movie until it was nominated at a few of the awards shows. So I surprised myself by picking this movie up one day in Blockbuster. I don t know why I did because I wasn t that interested in seeing it, but it did wind up going home with me that day. I am always a bit daunted when I review a movie that I can t rave about when Top Reviews have. But that s the reason I can write my opinion of Mystic River. I was especially drawn to it (which will come back to haunt this movie) by the fact it was filmed around Boston. The Mystic River is one I went over too many times to count and still do on occasion. Directed by Clint Eastwood, in my opinion, Mystic River is a combination of CSI and Law and Order but with fantastic acting performances.
