I AM A COMMITTED WHITNEY FAN. NOT TOO MANY ARTISTS HAVE THE LONGEVITY OF A TALENTED CAREER LIKE SHE DOES. YEA, SHE'S BEEN THROUGH HELL BUT YOU CAN'T DENY HER GIFT!

  Whitney Houston B.C. Before Crack
Review created: 05/15/04

Pros:
her voice was amazing, some of the songs are damn good.

Cons:
it's a bit discombobulated.

There was time when no one could battle the talent that was Whitney Houston. Sadly, Whitney Houston who was once the diva to rival all divas has a career that can be divided into two parts: before crack and after crack. Thankfully, despite whatever personal foils Houston may be going through in her life, she has an impressive anthology of work that is a testament to her enviable talents and savvy as an R

"My Love is Your Love": The Best Album of Whitney's Career??
Review created: 05/20/06

Pros:
Whitney doing the best singing of her career.

Cons:
A few predictably boring Babyface ballads, Missy Elliott cameo.

What has been lost in the discussion of Whitney Houston's other, various issues (shall we say) is that her voice has consistently gotten better with age. When she first started out in '85, she was all style and no substance. Much like current young singers such as Joss Stone and Beyonce, Whitney's voice was pretty, but it had yet to project any real sort of "lived-in" quality. And having her shout loudly over watery ballads was not a good look for her, record sales be damned. That all changed around '92 or so, when "The Bodyguard" soundtrack came out. This was also (probably not coincidentally

Whitney proves that she is still is worthy of diva status

Pros:
Still that fabulous voice, excellent new edge to her material, an nice variety of producers

Cons:
Couple songs a little immature, new sound takes getting use to, ballads a little weak

When I found out Whitney Houston was releasing her first studio album after many years of soundtracks I found myself experiencing mixed emotions. On one hand I was unbelievably excited because she is one of my idols with her crystal clear voice and sheer power. Yet, I also was worried I would be disappointed. What if she was another downhill diva? What if her talent has slipped into the realm of waste like other past icons like Mariah Carey? I decided to buy this album and I wasn't disappointed. I was surprised at the changes in her material and had to adjust but in the end I was pleased with.

Pros:
A number of great artists (Kelly Price, Lauryn Hill[?]) capture the respected eye of other Whitney fans

Cons:
This is Whitney Houston s album right? Wait let me double check....

The teenage (wannabe diva), Brandy (of UPN s hit show Moesha) has, in numerous interviews, marked Whitney Houston as her source of inspiration. When listening to songs like You Don t Know Me or Almost Doesn t Count , you can see the influence that Whitney has on her. However when listening to Whitney s Your Love Is My Love album, I hear the influence that Brandy and her counterparts had on Whitney. I ve listened to this CD a number of times, trying desperately to figure out what everyone sees in it. It really isn t all that great. It sounds to me like a talented woman staring into the barrel..

'It's Not Right, But It's Ok'- Almost Prophetic- Whitney's Venture Into Hip Hop
Review created: 01/28/03
by: insomniac1587 -- a member of Epinions

Pros:
she still has her voice, she tries to do something different

Cons:
only worked with the more famous producers, didn't write, horrid image

Over the last ten years, Whitney Houston's public image has went into the collective crapper. Drug busts, no shows at major events, and bizarre interviews are only some of the ways the formerly clean Houston has changed from the fresh faced teen bopping and dancing along to cornball (but really fun) pop in the mid 1980's. Recently while looking for the next album to review, I stumbled upon her 1998 release MY LOVE IS YOUR LOVE and thought 'hmm, I'll review that next.' Well, long story short, here I am. TRACKLISTING: 1. It's Not Right, But It's Ok 2. Heartbreak Hotel (f/ Faith Evans and Kelly..
