For me, The Mavericks are the only country music that I really like. I think that says a lot though because this CD, among their others, really stand out to me. I love his voice and the music. It’s just fun.

Pros: Soft, gentle songs that, played in the background, may make you cry without knowing why
Cons: You may not want to cry
The Mavericks released Music for all Occasions in 1995. I ve been enjoying it since about 1996. The Mavericks became famous for me when my wife played them on the CD player. I then read about them in Rolling Stone, where they praised the goofy cover photo and also the music. We ve had the CD in and out of the deck for the last few years, and when it s in there, it tends to stick. What I like about the album The sound. It's so rich and full, like hot chocolate with real chocolate, and a hint of bitterness in the aftertaste. The songs sound like the product of a damaged heart. What I don't like.
