Motorola V262 (ALLTEL Wireless)

I used to hate cell phones. They never worked when you needed them and they were troublesome to carry around. This phone is different though.

I live in Macon, GA but I work in a small town about 50 miles away and I had a hard time finding a cell phone that would work during my commute. My old cell phone would be out of range for about half of the trip, but with the V262 I have coverage all the way.

The old cell phones were too big and I kept droping it or hitting it on something like a wall or my desk when I wore it. The V262 is a flip phone and is very small and only weighs 3.7 ounces! I sometimes forget that I am wearing it!

I bought my teenage son a Razr V3A and he decided to take it swimming with him at the pool. Since we were under a 2 year contract through Alltel, it would have cost me around $250 to replace it. Instead, I found this one at a very good deal on ebay and it was well worth the money. After shipping, it cost $23, but I had a $10 discount on shipping, so it only cost me $13. It does get a good signal, almost as good or better than the Razrs we have. I highly recommend this phone.

owner did not mention this phone has problem when I pick up, the screen does not show out immedi, it keeps frozen!! and I have to call back almost every time, that costs me a lot money!

Contract ran out but don't need new phone with unneeded camera! I just got another V262 on ebay,4th phone. My girl friend still has her origional V262 phone.But she takes better care of hers. Alot better than me. Obviously!!
This is the only phone without a camera that a person can keep going back to.
A Great Phone !!!

The motorola v262 from alltel is an awesome phone. It has everything you need except for camera phone which I rarely use. I bought this as back up phone and it is great. It has raise up antenna for better reception. It has great signal strength with no dropped calls. Overall for price you can't beat this phone. It is better than alot of the newest phones. Why sign another 2 year contract when you can get great phone without it. You want be disappointed with this phone in any way. Debbie Richter from Tennessee

This is a very nice phone. I needed a 911 compatible phone that was inexpensive....and this one fits my needs.

The merchandise was even better than I expected. Usually used more noticable but this is great. I received this merchandise even quicker than expected and it was great considering I needed to replace a phone on my account. This has more items than mine did when it came new. I am greatly impressed with the merchandise. The price was very reasonable and the shipping was fast.

These are a great solid phone if you do not need a camera phone & all that garbage. Great phone with good basic features. I love mine & it is tough too. Mine has been dropped a lot & never fails me at all.

Quick reply and shipment was appreciated. Phone is in good condition as described. Had no difficulty getting it activated. However it is not fully fuctional. Although it activated with Alltel, it still has Unicel software in it. Alltel Service Center was unable to install their software update.

This year as a school bus driver has brought something new. I started losing my phone, some were laid on the floor, some were deliberately picked up by the kids. I did not care to change phone types, buy a new one and then a new contract also. I chose to come to eBay for availability and price, this is no longer avaible through Alltel. I have a couple more waitng if needed.

Needed a new battery for cellphone. The one purchased on e-bay workes great. Only need to charge it up once or twice a week depending on usage. Would buy another one.

it has great reception in my area,the volume on the phone is great but sometimes the battery doesn't last very long I've bought different batteries but its not the problem maybe that's why they discontinued it

The Motorola V262 has been a dependable phone. The primary feature I like is the built in name recognition. Some phones like earlier and other Motorola models require that you speak a person's name several times so the software can "recognize" the name. This phone recognizes name based on spelling and some sort of phonics recognition. In other words, it recognizes the name "John Doe" by the way its spelled, not by the way I pronounce it.

The flip broke immediately and the screen was broken when we received it. This may have been a fluke and the seller might have other good products. Even though we didn't pay much for phone it does not excuse the poor quality. This was not a good ebay experience.

Everything I received was in the condition described and was totally acceptable. Mailing time seemed a little slow, but I did mail a money order. Our purchase then had a holiday mid-week then a weekend, received package the following week. Would make purchases again in the future from the seller. Thank you.

earpiece was brken when it arrived and you could only use speaker then it died completely 3 weeks later.

Very pleased with the purchase, I run a trucking company and don't like to have contracts on my lines. This phone was great.

Sleek style,cool rubbery texture plus easy to customize removable top. Bad reviews of this phone have been posted by people reviewing their bad ebay seller--not the phone itself--which is not what the reviews section is for. Perfect phone especially for under $75! just make sure you get OEM battery, charger, and other accessories when you buy--that's the only thing that might cause you trouble from some sellers. Also, make sure you buy from a powerseller with 99% or better feedback!

Although this model (V262) is no longer available from ALLTEL or the other wireless providers the V262 remains a solid and reliable phone. I have one and my spouse does too. Batteries are not available from retail sources but eBay and other online sellers have them (only buy new!)Chargers and a host of accessories are also available from online sources. $50 or $60 bucks for a very good cell phone is not much to pay.

I bought this phone because it was a replacement for a broken phone. This way I did not have to resign a 2 year agreement with my cellular carrier and it was a lot cheaper this way. I always look to ebay for cheap deals on great merchandise. The phone was shipped quickly and was in good condition

I have been using a V262 phone for a few years now and I really like it. My sons phone started acting up so I bought this phone to replace his old one.
As advertised, the phone had surface scratches but the LCD display windows are good and all the keys function. The only glitch is it won't charge with the plug in charger!! Fortunately I have a desktop charger unit that has a seperate slot for charging extra batteries. The battery that came with the phone, used of course, has died. I have a "spare" that my son is using and charging it out of phone every night. We will be getting another "spare" or two soon.
Over all, I am satisfied as we did not pay much for the phone. It came with a 7 day return for replacement but I had to go out of town and was gone longer than expected thus missed the replacement window. I did not contact the seller about this.
The phone is easy to use. It has a lot of neat features such as "name dial & digit dial." It is a flip phone so it is smaller to carry. With a good battery, it has a wonderful standby time a good talk time. Over all, like I said before, I have liked the phone since the first one I bought. There have been a couple of the same models replaced due to damage or failure. In fact, I have plans to get one or two more to replace my wife's phone and have a "spare" phone.
