This phone has everything you can want in a phone and not to mention a great price. I upgraded from a env to this phone and let me say this phone is much much better. You will not make a mistake buying one of these.
After using this phone for about a month now I have to say if not for Verizon Wireless this phone would be an excellent. I'm sorry it's personal opinion and I try to stay away from those when writting reviews but I can't pass this one by. The lack of being able to customize this phone just goes beyond me. I love the look, the style, the feel, and the overall quality of this phone.
Pro's: Call quality is again up to Motorola Standards. Reception is better than the RaZr but not as good as the E815. Fade in Screen. (This is also a con) Large external screen. 2 Mega Pix camera. Excellent Picture Quality Auto Focus button Photo Editing right on the phone! iTap over T9 any day Over 60 MB of built in memory and expandable with 2 GB card capacity.
Cons: Fade Screen causes delays that are annoying after a bit of time. When texting the delays between screen changes annoying. Delays between key presses. (most if not all of the above I hope will be corrected with a software update) Unable to customize the phone with themes such as the ones on the E815. When sending picture messages you can't close the phone after hitting send because of the delays. Locks up sometimes when going from sending a picture directly from the camera function, as well as from the album.(This hasn't been to much of a problem it's only happened once or twice. Sound quality from the earpiece speaker could use a bit of redesign the slit that the speaker uses has to be held just right to hear correctly.(I use a BT headset most of the time so this isn't such a problem for me)
A HUGE mistake is being left out of the last 2 models of Motorola phones for Verizon Wireless. The Maxx VE and the KrZr neither one have a master reset built into the menu system. I have been told there is a key sequence to be used and there is also the OpCode option. I don't know the key sequence so please don't ask. The OpCode option can be found with a simple google search for OpCode V710 this will however cause the screen to dim. If you have a BT headset make sure it's connected before you start the OpCode sequence and turn it off after you get to the OpCode menu and it will light the screen back up other wise it's a pain to try an read the screen if you aren't sure what you're doing.
I bought this phone looking for something to replace my LG-VX8300 and it's a wonderful replacement. Upgraded phone with an upgraded price. It was well worth the money I paid with just a few minor issues hopefully those will be corrected with some software "enhancements".
