Mortal Kombat: Armageddon (PlayStation 2)

This game is the final one of the series for current generation consoles. the next batch of mortal kombat games will land on the newer systems, including Xbox 360, PS3, and nintendo Wii.
i personally think this is one of the best games in the whole series.
with over 60 fighters to choose from, a make your own fighter mode with millions of possibilities, a brand new fatality system where you create your own string of combos to finish off your opponent. and a fun new side game, Motor Kombat, which is a lot like the old mario kart games with mortal kombat fighters as racers, and MK related tracks. its a very fun diversion.
also the games is playable ONLINE! so you can make your dream fighter and take it online to see how good he really is.

if you purchase the Premium version you get an extra DVD with a movie called "the history of fatalities" where the creators of the game talk about the fatalities from the very first mortal kombat right up to the last game, armeggedon.
also on that disc, is the "cards" that are bios on most of the fighters.
you also get another bonus, the game UMK3 (ultimate mortal kombat 3) thats playable. not online though.

there are over 30 arenas to play in, lots of new ones and some old ones. some fun new death traps. and enough content to keep you busy for many many months.

I bought this item for my son for his birthday. I went tot Ebay to find it instead of going to a dozen stores to find it. It was brand new and a better price than I would have found in a store. I really love shopping on Ebay.

Mortal Komabt has to be the best fighting game ever. It is so rough and exciting and graphic with the fatalities. It goes like this: Throughout the Mortal Kombat universe, the warriors were growing too strong and numerous for the realms to handle. The warriors' powers threaten to utterly destroy the fabric of the MK universe. These warriors clashed in a single battle royal that would threaten to rip apart reality and bring about the apocalypse. Without warning, a pyramid rises from the ground, and the tip bursts into flames, attracting the warriors' curiosity to see what it was. The kombatants fought one another to get to the top, while Blaze revealed himself to them. The fire spawn was created by the mother of the main character in "Konquest" mode to destroy as many fighters as possible in order to save the realms from Armageddon. This would be the warriors' last battle, their last chance to prove that they are worthy of surviving, while many others will perish. This will be the final battle for Mortal Kombat, the battle that will determine the fate of the realms.

my son was the one who purchased this item. he loves the movie versions so he decided to purchase the game.

This is a very good game. It's has some very tricky and tough traps and bosses. The hand to hand combat is slightly clunky. Who every made this game should have inproved that and less on unlocking lots and lots of stuff. This Mortal Kombat game has just about every character in the wntire Mortal Komba games. I really like this because I haven't played much of any mortal Kombat games. The recent one that I've been playing was Mortal Kombat Deadly Alliance the konquest is nothing compared to this game. I decided to get this game because a lot of other people said they love this game and it's challenging and has few unque death traps that I sure don't want to be catch in. If I were you I'd consider this game lightly.

Ive bought other PS2 games off eBay that where excellent. This particular game mortal kombat : Armageddon was badly scratched up and would not play. It took a very long time to get here also.
I purchased the item because I believed the description to be accurate and I trust ebay.

Despite all the bad reviews out there for this game, I rather like it. Ok, so the fighting engine isn't as fast or as fluent as other titles, but this remains an arcade style game that's a lot of fun to play. The Kreate A Fighter option didn't impress me at all, but the Konquest mode did as it gets very challenging. I do like being able to knock other fighters into burning lava, spikes, fans, and everything else, lol. The air Kombat really adds a new level to the game as well. The biggest plus I found was that almost all of the characters are unlocked to play in versus mode right from the start!!

Pros: Tons of fun to play with your friends as well as in Konquest mode. Lots of characters to get you going, with only a few locked away.

Cons: No two player Konquest mode and an aging fight engine.

The game cover is just like new, and so is the game disc. The detail in the packing was extremely careful, wich is something I really appreciate, as every ebayer does...I guess.

I like Mortal Kombat so much that I have to have all of the games if that is possible. I really like the fighting style of Mortal Kombat. It rocks.

I love this game. It is a hot fighting game with many wonderfull/awesome characters with much excellent moves and fighting/finishing combos. Buy this an you will never regret your purchase.

If you like bringing back old Mortal Komabat characters, then this is your game. 60+ characters to play plus there is a Kreate-a-fighter mode that lets you build and custimize your own characters with basic moves and specialized moves. Besides all this, there is Konquest mode and Motor Kombat(MK racing)! With pwerful combo attacks and the fatality system it is great fighting game. The game has a ESRB rating of Mature 17+ and is well earned for blood and violence. Most of the arenas have deathtraps on them too, making more than one way to defeat your opponent. Overall, it is a really good fighting game, but if you have kids playing it, turn the blood level off.

the child likes the game and asked me to purchase it for them. they feel it's an excellent game. they seem to think it's a good game and they enjoy it very much.

The gameplay is fairly good, however there was no improvements made to the game engine over the last few titles(MK:Deadly Alliance, MK:Deception. The game content is somewhat lacking as over half the Krypt contents are somewhat irrelevant production videos and pics. Motor Kombat is very entertaining but lacks in lenght and content but more than makes up for the abismal Konquest mode. Good Buy, good game, although a little more effort on the part of the developers would be nice.

The story line and endings on this one are real good. The combo system is easy to learn and fun to mess with. It's got a gang of characters. And the fatalities are easy so you wont frustrate your self trying to remember buttons for fatalities.

Gameplay is not as fluid as Soul Caliber. For beginners to fighting games, try Soul Caliber. Only advance onto MK if you are good at the controls. I wish that I had the ability to use some other moves besides kicking while in mid-air. Switching fighitng styles during gameplay is also confusing, maybe it is because this is my first MK game in a few years. This game has a wide selection of characters, more than Soul Caliber and the Finishing Moves are nice.

Everything about this game is awsome, I've been in MK since the very first one and this one is great! Online fighting is the best and kreate a fighter makes it very cool and interesting.
