  Great game

This is probably the best game I have ever played, definitely in my top three. It has by far the largest map, the most extensive weapon selection, and the best gameplay. The game of the year edition improves the game by adding two more maps to explore. This game is two or three months well spent.

Best extensive RPG for the Xbox

This game literally takes months to complete every single mission, there are about a 1,000+ side mission and a lengthy main quest.

This particular game includes the two expansions that were for the PC version: Bloodmoon and the Tribunal. Which adds even more quests, new armor sets, enemies, weapons, two more main quests for each area, and two huge new areas to explore.

The graphics are very good and the gameplay is easy to get a hang of. Whether your exploring the charred ashlands, open fields, or plunging into a eerie crypt you will find many endless oppurtunities with this game! Definately a must-have for those Open-ended RPG lovers out there!

Time only makes this game better.

I first picked this game up when it first came out way back in 2002 and was immediately hooked on the story, customization, and deep fascinating world that The Elder Scrolls III Morrowind provided.

I recently bought it again for nostalgia if nothing else, and I have to say this game has staying power.

It does have a few drawbacks if you're looking to play it on your 360 however.
The framerate suffers noticeably enough to be somewhat of a pain at first, and there are some issues with the menus being slightly unresponsive at times. All this aside, I'm sure that once you've gotten past those small details, especially if you're a fan of the game looking to adventure again, Morrowind continues to inspire the battle-mage/Warrior/Thief/assasin/bard/ect ect ect... in us all.

  Very entertaining requires thought
Review created: 04/19/08

Quite a game. Cheap entertainment. Easy to play but get's as in-depth as you want. Run around take quests and fight or go the extra yard and learn how to magic up your own armor and weapons to make yourself a custom thief/warrior/healer/trader/mage you pick it.

Morrowind GOTY edition w/ Strategy Guide
Review created: 03/18/08

Though this game came out in 2003, it still holds up to the newer Elder Scrolls game Oblivion. The landscapes and backgrounds are even more breathtaking in this older version. As well as being able to use weapons like spears that are not available in the newer version. You also have the option of becoming a werewolf with the GOTY edition. I would highly recommend this game to ANYONE who loves RPGS or fantasy games. The guide is a GOD send. It is over 400 pages long! It includes every map (very helpful). As well as hints, weapon lists etc.. And because its been out awhile, you can find Elder Scrolls 3 for a VERY reasonable price. It is a MUST own on X-Box PERIOD.

Not as good as the P.C. version but worth every cent...
Review created: 12/09/07

I really love the freedom that Bethesda offers players with in their games. They really know how to give you an experience that changes every time you play. Which obviously makes the replay value priceless. The plot‘s of their games, although not the most original, is certainly engaging and fun to the very end. The same can be said about Morrowind: Game of the Year Edition. You have hundreds of extra hours due to the additions of Tribunal, and Bloodmoon. This is a must have for any RPG fan.

I have played the P.C. version and the extra control within the game made the experience much better. If you have a choice I would recommend that version over Xbox‘s. Though I do know that Vista driven computers will most likely have issues until Bethesda decides to make a patch for it. I had to purchase the Xbox version for this reason myself. I still thoroughly enjoyed the game even with the limits. And anyway, those only playing the console will never know the difference.

So to wrap up… Morrrowind is an engaging game, right from the moment you step off the boat in Seyda Neen. From there you are directed to many different locations to complete many different jobs. These can be anything from shopping and foraging to murder. By the time you are told just what the heck is going on you will already have put in many engaging hours of intense play. The leveling system is unlike most role-playing games, and actually adds to the experience. Rather than running around and mindlessly killing things, you actually have to utilize your main skills to level up. I really like this better because you are forced to utilize the different aspects of the already deep game play. I do notice a large learning curve to get used to, but it is fairly intuitive. To level up your sword fighting skills, swing your sword at your enemy. To level up your acrobatics, jump as much as possible. Though there is much more than just swinging and jumping, especially when it comes skills like alchemy and spell creation. Top all this off with the ability to join guilds, including a assassins organization, you have quite an amazing game packed into that one little disk.

I recommend this game to anyone looking for adventure. It will last many satisfying months. One warning though. If you get into this game it will suck up much of your time, as there really is no forcing you to do the main quest. You can quite literally run around doing side quests and exploring for many weeks. But that’s what I love about these open ended games. Please enjoy…

Horrible buying experience. Was framed by seller and not defended by ebay. Given a strike by racist seller who tore up my check and sent it back claiming I never paid. My final ebay purchase.

I really like this game, it rocks. The best part of it is that it has the two expansions. I know it's way better than the non-game of the year version, because it doesn't show the health of the bad guys or the good guys. That is why I wanted to get this game.

this game will keep you playing it for hours. in the beginning you will start out with about nothing and will seem boring but as you due things for people and get more money the game will be really fun to play. In the guides you can join which you can earn rank and money in. Be careful who you kill you might need them later in the game.

This game was awesome!! It is estremely addictive, I would recommend getting it with the strategy guide cuz you will definately need it, there is just no way you would be able to find everything and complete every quest without it. The game just has so much you can do, and it is so cool how every action affects the whole game and how the people of Morrowind view you. I would definately recommend everyone play it at least once and you will see how fun it is.

First off I'm writing this review for people that bought the original Morrowind. So if you haven't ever played the original, i doubt you will know what I'm talking about in this review.I bought this game about a month ago because I had the original Morrowind and wanted to see how the expansion packs were like. First we'll start with expansion pack, Tribunal.

I'm not gonna go into the story here mainly because you won't be buying this for the story, and whatever story there is I don't want to spoil it for you. Tribunal takes place mainly in the city of Mournhold. Even though the box says you get to go to the Clockwork City, the "city" is nothing more then a dungeon, with weird traps. Nothing has realy changed from the original Morrowind, you get some new weapons and armor(one sword has a striking resemblance to a lightsaber), some new ingredients, a shopkeeper who sells grand soul gems, and a couple other things. Now we'll talk about Bloodmoon.

Ok, Bloodmoon takes place on an island northwest of Morrowind. This island is about 1/5 the size of Morrowind, but it comes with a couple goodies. In this expansion pack you will be able to become a werewolf, along with a couple new sets of armor and weapons. Now even though your going to want to become a werewolf at the first possible chance, don't. You will get a ring near the end of the game that transforms you into one whenever you put it on.

Game of the Year Edition is great to get even if you have the normal version of Morrowind, because of the new weapons and armor, becoming a werewolf, having new places to explore, and having new quests. So I would recomend getting it. You could get it on ebay for around twenty dollars, wich is a good price for an excellent game.

I originally owned the first version of this game. Then I saw it had the two expansion packs made for xbox and the complete walk through players guide I jumped for it. the players guide eliminates walking around trying to find something for hours on end and getting nothing but frustrated and the expansions on this game are phenomenal bringing you a hole new island and the royal palace. Giving you all new missions to complete as thought it wasn't enough already. over all I can't say enough about this game if you haven't played it you need to and people who are looking for the best game that ever came out for xbox this is it.

Morrowind Gold: Game of the Year Edition
Review created: 07/01/06
by:
2 of 2 people found this review helpful.

Until The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion was released, I never had the privilege of experiencing an Elder Scrolls game. After well over a hundred hours of gameplay on Oblivion, I decided to rewind a bit of the story and purchase The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind.

I bought the Gold Game of the Year Edition because it includes expansions that were previously only released for the PC version of the game. The graphics are fairly substandard compared to Oblivion; however, the graphics engine used in this game is what made the development of a masterpiece like Oblivion possible. In addition, many easter eggs included in Oblivion require a knowledge of the province of Morrowind. This alone should make Morrowind a must-play for all those Oblivion lovers.

If you call yourself an RPG player you should place this game on the top of your list to experience. It's an oldie--but a goodie.
