The moonstruck video is great, arrived in perfect condition. My unhappiness stems from what I feel is unfair shipping costs. I've lived in Hawaii most of my life, and mail stuff back and forth all of the time. I should not have been charged for 2 day shipping--and it still took 5 days to get here! Priority mail would of been just as effecient. When I bid on the video, it showed shipping costs of 5.99, and I was charged 12.99. I felt that I didn't have a choice, and went ahead and paid for it.
Love this movie- filled with classic lines and scenes. You can smell the basil from the kithcen of their Brooklyn house. It was the "Big Fat Greek Wedding" of the 80s- but with Italians. Ti voglio bene!! A la famiglia!
It's a Wonderful Life-A Christmas Story and for me Moonstruck are holiday staples. The characters are like family, my family knows most of the lines " someone tell a joke" during a dinner conversation will always fill an awkward silence. "Your life is going down the toilet" " You got a Love bite on your Neck"
I worked in Brooklyn for 4 years- the expressions, the passion , the drama they are all here in this movie. In the end" no matter what you do, your still gonna die" Great logic. Gotta love it!
My VHS tore last holiday this DVD is so much clearer- this was any easy transaction
What I loved about Moonstruck was the unexpected twists and turns it took. It was a different kind of love story. It had a great award-winning cast and the movie itself won awards. It was funny too, and I could relate to what they were all going through. I had watched it a long time ago, then when I saw it on Ebay I knew I had to get it. My boyfriend even liked it. It's one of those movies you could watch over and over.
Ok this movie is not my favorite Cher movie! I did love the comedy and I thought Cher was brilliant..I felt Nicholas Cage over acted in this one..maybe he felt intimidated by Cher..who knows! I loved Olympia Dukakis(sp?) as Chers Mom..I wasn't impressed by the acter portraying her Father, what was the puprose of the Grandfather?...but the Actor who played the hapless Guy in the restaurant (Marty Crane from Fraiser) was funny and engaging..This movie did have it's moments mainly Chers camera time..I was awed by her going to the Opera look..the first words out of my mouth when I saw her was NOW that's the Cher I know and love..she is a gorgeous Woman..frumpy does not suit her at all! Still this is a great cuddle movie so grab someone you love turn the lights down low or off and enjoy!
I just love this movie. A wonderful family comedy. Right from the begining to the end you just can't stop laughing. Perfect ending. One to watch over and over. Nicholas Cage and Cher are perfect for eachother in these rolls. LOVE IT!!!
I have watched Moonstruck on television many times and loved it every time that I saw it. Cher plays a great role in the movie, as well as the other characters. I could watch this movie over and over again. There are so many funny things that happen offhandedly and sometimes predictably. I wanted to have my own copy on DVD so that I could watch it whenever I choose.
The product is exactly what I wanted, however it taking three weeks to arrive was unacceptable - I had a deadline to have it, and because of the excessively slow shipping, was unable to meet it.
Cher and Nicholas Cage make a very entertaining couple. Their characters were very appealing and easy to relate. The story was also very well done by Norman Jewison. The cast was also well selected as each played his/her role excellent. I would highly recommend this movie to any movie audience.
This is an amazing love story, starring Cher (who won the Best Actress for this film) it also won best suporting actress (Olympia Dukakis) and best Screenplay!! An absolute must see...

Moonstruck: ah, love's sweet lunacy!

Pros: Cher! Olympia Dukakis as a world weary woman who's seen it all.
Cons: Ok, so it's syrupy at times.
Ah that ol' devil moon! There's no resisting that old call... About once a year I pop this one in the DVD player to cheer myself up when I start doubting love's magical powers. Director Norman Jewison dishes up a movie for us here that's better than any comfort food you can think of. Centering around this story is a triangle of two men and a woman -- the brothers, Johnny (Danny Aiello) and Ronnie (Nicholas Cage) Cammareri and Loretta Castorini Clark (Cher). Having dated for what has seemed forever, Johnny one night over dinner pops the big question to Loretta -- and being the dufuss he is,...

Pros: That bella luna! Great cast of actors.
Cons: Might be too chick-centric for guys; Nick Cage
I know this movie originally came out in like 1987 and I admit, I've avoided it til now. I don't know why. I suppose because it won 3 Academy Awards and well, you can't always tell a good movie by it's awards, plus I'm not one to jump on something just because others say it's a hit. So I avoided it for 15 years until this weekend when DH and I watched it. He's seen it before, I hadn't, we both thoroughly enjoyed it. Cher plays a woman named Loretta Castorini Clark that hasn't had the best of luck when it comes to love, men and marriage. When her long time boyfriend, Johnny Cammareri (Danny...

Cons: none
...........that's amore. Moonstruck is a romantic movie that revolves around an Italian-American widow named Loretta Castorini (Cher). Her first husband was run over by a bus and killed so now she's convinced she has bad luck when it comes to love. She's engaged to marry Johnny Cammareri (Danny Aiello) a real timid mamma's boy who does not elicit any passion from the hot blooded Loretta but she decides to settle for "safe" rather than tempt fate again. Her fianc flies to Sicily to be with his dying mother and tells Loretta to meet with his brother and invite him to the wedding. He had a...

Draw Down the Moon

Pros: Funny, romantic, and beautiful to the eye.
Cons: Might inspire you to behave like lovestruck mooncalf.
Does new love always make us look as foolish as we may be feeling on the inside? Can the moon really influence us, especially when we fall in love? Perhaps Both of these concepts have certainly come up before when romance and love are the topics. Lovers meet by the light of the moon, George Bailey offered to lasso the moon as a present for his love in It's a Wonderful Life, and all the antics of a Midsummer Night's Dream occur beneath the impassive face of this atmospherical benefactor to the lovelorn. Hearts swollen with love are often inspired to heroic actions as well as irrational ones,...

Pros: funny and smart comedy
Cons: i don't think Cher is Italian
Okay, admit it! How many of you tried to make make fried eggs inside holes cut out of bread after seeing this movie? Although I had forgotten, my mom used to do it all the time. It brought back memories of my childhood and I appreciated the film all the more. When it comes to marriage, settle for nothing less than true love. Cher is at her best as Loretta Casterrini, a widow with "no luck" when it comes to love. Just when she thinks she's put her life in order, she meets the man of her dreams (Nicolas Cage)...her husband-to-be's brother! Laughs and tears abound throughout this film and you...
