Missinaibi by Hap Wilson (2004)

If you are thinking of taking a canoe trip on Canada's Missinaibi River, this is THE book to have. Well written, informative and full of first hand knowledge, this book tells you how, where and when to go ... the why is up to you. It contains illustrations of every rapid and portage, places of ingress and egress, seasonal information (when the bugs are bad), contact numbers for railway info and myriad other tips that will make your trip better. It also has sections on local history and geology and shows points of interest along the route. Even if you never plan to float the Missinaibi this book is worth reading.
