This is a really good movie!

Basically because actress Renee Zellweger stars as the best-selling children’s author and illustrator Beatrix Potter.

I like period pieces and this is set in Victorian England.

The film follows Miss Potter’s life, from a little girl to an independent young woman in pursuit of a career in illustration and storytelling.

Her mother does not approve of this career and wants her to follow in the mother's footsteps in high society.

THE TALE OF PETER RABBIT is the first book she is able to get published. She falls in love with her publisher and became secretly engaged to him. The rest of the story is somewhat sad, but she ends up in the history books as the prolific writer of Peter Rabbit tales.

Ewan McGregor and Renée Zellweger are great in this movie!

This is a beautifully scripted story of the life of Beatrix Potter. The scenery, costumes, and sets were awesome. It is a bittersweet story of love, loss and love again.

This a DVD that I purchased for my wife. She really enjoyed the movie and actually felt that it was better than her books on Miss Potter. The acting was excellent and it seemed as if one could relate with the characters much better. She usually feels that any book is much better than the movie but in this case that was not true. This is a story of a wonderful woman and the interesting life she had. For any Potter fans this is a must see DVD.

I loved everything about the movie. I had previously watched it on satellite television. I decided to buy the movie for my Mom as a gift. She also likes it very much and it was her first time to see it. It is a very good rendering of Miss Potter's life. The brief animation in the movie is simply wonderful. I highly recommend this movie to anyone, especially those who enjoyed the Beatrix Potter Books.

I saw Miss Potter on Home Box and fell in love with it...Such a wonderful story and TRUE! The movie I could relate to in that for many years I was an unmarried woman. Rene Zellweger brings the part of Beatrix Potter to life and the movie is an inspiration.

This was a inspiring story of Beatrix Potter. Her life was unique and unusual. She was an example of preserving and respecting the beautiful land that we have been made stewards of. I must say I found this story to be very emotional and lovely. My favorite kind.

Old fashioned love story about a great children's author, set in a time when women were expected to marry to better themselves. Delightful story suitable for younger viewers , a young women with an amazing artistic talent that bring's to life her love of animals , a journey of how she became independent and respected. Beautiful english countryside ,a feel good movie.

The setting of this movie is in England so the countryside background is beautiful. It is extremely well done and cast with excellent actresses and actors. It is also a great movie for the whole family to watch.

My husband bought this for me, because I really wanted a copy. It was sold to us
with the dealers full knowledge that it was not formated for our zone. My
husband didn't fully read all the disclaimer data, and so he did not know that there are zones of formats. Of course, the dealer will not refund because of our
ignorance, but in spite of it. THe dealer is fully aware that he is selling
incompatible merchandise. We have since discovered that numerous people have been
duped into purchase, from ignorance. His merchandise should only be sold in the
appropriate countries, and not offered where it is incompatible. He's raking in
revenue from neophytes. I suggest a reprimand, and rerouting of his store. We and many others have wasted US currency.

The movie was very inspiring and entertaining. I would recommend all hope writers and illustrators see this movie.

Wonderful biography of Beatrix Potter who wrote Peter Rabbit stories. It was both entertaining and informative and Renee Zollweger performed far better than I had expected and was excellent in this role. Anyone who has loved all of Peter and his cohorts should enjoy this whether they recall it from their own childhood or are treating their children to these stories in present times. Miss Potter was a woman of her time who grew beyond that era.

Ordered it for a gift for my sister. It arrived in a timely fashion. She called as soon as she saw it with many thanks.

I purchased this product under the thought and said wording that it was a collector's edition of the movie. I had no idea that "For Your Consideration" meant that the DVD was merely for screening purposes. Throughout the movie, the wording "For Screening Purposes Only" kept coming up taking 1/3 of the screen in the process from about 2-3 minutes at a time. I again, would not have purchased this item if I had any idea it would be as such. I purchased the item for my little girls, but this edition was flawed in my estimation from the beginning. So, a Big NO to this one for sure unless you are buying it as a "For Your Consideration" Masterpiece Collection or something strange like that. Truly I do not believe these were meant to be sold to the public.

I couldn't find this DVD in local stores. I got it from this seller at a fair price and recieved it very quickly.

My whole family enjoyed this movie, and could watch it. Too often, even children's movies, are not appropriate for children. This movie passed our approval for our young children. It's a keeper.

For sheer beauty of filming, Miss Potter is one of the best movies of the year. Why it never swept U.S. theatres is a mystery--maybe we're just too jaded these days for a film that's uplifting, imaginative, lovely, and, well, just downright charming! Renee Zellweger is phenomenal in the role of Beatrix Potter--what can this actress NOT do? Here's a movie that touches the heart and delights the senses. (Anybody up for a trip to the English lake country??? Now we know how it is that such expanses of gorgeous countryside have existed untouched--and this movie will make you want to see them for yourself!)

very well written and acted. enjoyed film greatly . interesting to learn she used her money in environmental concervation projects in the 1920's. good clean film-- highly recomended family viewing no sex, drinking, cussing,or violence.

Good story. Educational. Well acted. We decided to buy the movie because we had rented it, and wanted it to be a part of our library.

Wholesome and inspiring, this movie was a breath of fresh air compared to many of the movies out there today. A biographical picture of Beatrix Potter, it is a story of strength of character, determination, overcoming adversity, and faith in ones self. The scenery is also absolutely georgous and was filmed in several areas of England, so be sure to get the wide-screen version to get the full effect.

Would never buy from the seller again. No response and item cancelled. Have submitted a notice to ebay about this seller.

This DVD was ordered and paid for on Nov 5, 2007. I still have not received it and am very disappointed.

I would not of picked this movie to watch in a million years. My wife borrowed it from a friend and caught me in just the right mood to convince me to at least start to view it with her. Does Renee ever give a bad performance??? She's not my favorite by any means but wow! can she ever draw you into her movie rolls. I was mesmerized and enriched by this movie and wished it had lasted longer. I bought it so other members of my family and friends could enjoy the experiance it provides in future years.

I just saw the movie "Miss Potter" for the first time and although I'm familiar with her work, I didn't know her life's story. The story was beautifully told through excellent performances and authentic costumes and furnishings of the time. The scenery was breathtaking. I was so involved, I was on the edge of my chair a lot of the time. I'm buying the DVD because I don't want to be too far away from Miss Potter at any time.

This DVD is a great romantic movie that has some sadness, but still ends up happy. Beatrice Potter was an amazing woman and certainly ahead of her time. The movie has some fantasy; but main story line was realistic and the acting was awesome. I would recommend it to anyone who loves people and animals. We rented it first and then bought it after seeing it at home. A great movie for both children and adults. No sexual situations.
