  Student pilot DREAM!

I can't tell anyone who much I love this simulator. I have many friends who will come over wanting to play the "game". My replie is always, this title is not a game, its a "simualtor". The difference is it replicates the airplane exactly every time. I, as a student pilot, use this title to practice vital skills before every lesson. It has greatly improved my skills without the plane itself. My instructor tells me "Out of all the student pilots he has, the ones that own and play flight simulator have a great basic idea of how a plane will fly which greatly improves there flight skills durring there training.

This is a great simulator to play with or to learn with. It has lessons on landing, takeoff,GPS, Autopilot, and much more. It also has a bunch of historical craft including The Spirit of St.Louis, wright brothers Plane, Amella Erhearts plane, and more. You can fly Jumbo Jets, Stunt Planes,
a Glider Cessinas, and Amphobious planes. It has amazing plane detail and over four weather conditions.

You can also customise the weather conditions and set the time of year, month, day, and year in witch you want
to fly.

You could say that Flight Simulator 2004 is a straightforward simulation, but if you have even a passing interest in flying, you'll definitely get your money's worth from it.

Flight Simulator 2004: A Great Flight
Review created: 05/02/08

To me this is the best flight simulator so far, up to and including Flight Simulator X. I had lot of problems with X so decided to try 2004 and am very happy with it. It is very realistic with wonderful graphics and a wide choice of aircraft to choose from. Many, many airports to choose from also, some nothing more than a pasture all the way to major airports around the world make every flight a new adventure if you so choose. I don't know if the problem with X was it, Windows Vista OS or a combination of the two but if you want a great flight simulator the 2004 product is easy to install and easy to run. I highly recommend it.

  Flight SIM for PC
Review created: 04/05/08
by:

I've used a lot of flying sims ie. Microsoft, Sierra etc. and nothing compares yet so far to this Sim. Excellent flying modes of a lot of aircrafts to choose from. Easy freeware upgrades available. I love helicopters and this made it more enjoyable. I decided to buy this just to try out the uploads of a variety of helicopters that were offered. The scenery library is outstanding and so many airports to fly to and from. Great flight challanges and historic information that puts you right into the era. I recommend this to all ages and levels of pilots of flight sims. Very good.:)

  95% perfect...

I bought this after FS2002 showed its limitations and FSX just simply wouldn't work on my new PC. It is a definite improvement in many ways, especially the selection of aircraft: Graphics are blow-you-away superior to those in FS2002, more aircraft have virtual cockpits, you get better air traffic around you, weather, you name it...the only flaw is the lousy Garmin GPS. It is horrible in one aspect: If you try to cue your approach to it like you might in FS2002, you will be misaligned with the runway. The GPS in FS2002 was perfect for accuracy; They should've kept that one under the Garmin name. The airport info you get with the Garmin is great, but misaligned approaches resulting from it are unacceptable. Is there a replacement GPS for the Garmin? It'd make the program and I'd give it the 5 stars it otherwise deserves.

Microsoft Flight Simulator is a not a game but a very good tool for people of all ages to learn about aviation. Even the very young can benefit from the detailed senery and time mom or dad. It is one of the best ways of spending time solo or with family or friends. It is an especially good activity for senior citizens.
One of the features I like the most is it's ability to allow add on applications such as Flight Deck III, which gives cyber pilots the thrill of carrier takeoffs and landings. If you want something interesting to do on your computer but don't want to spend a lot money, Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004 is the application for you. Prices on Ebay are truly a bargin.

This is the second flight simulator I've owned. This one offers more aircraft to fly and easier to navigate with the GPS system. Also you can fly aircraft and the routes that our aviation icons did.

I bought this game because I am a real world Private Pilot. I soon will begin training for my instrument, commercial, multi-engine and flight instructior certificates. This game is as real as it gets! All of the nav radios, frequencies, ATC, its all just like it would be in a real airplane! I would highly recommend a joystick to be used with this game and rudder pedals are not a must but for the serious aviator it adds to the fun and challenge! I love this game and I know you will be satisfied with it as well.

Century of Flight 2004 good variety of simulations

This was a gift for my grandson which I chose from its description. He was excited to receive it because it was the very one he had wanted when he shopped in a local store.
There are a variety of simulations and just about any airport you can choose to fly from, even our little local one up the street from where I live.
It was a good buy and I received good service from the seller.

Buzz the Golden Gate in the Wright Flyer

Bought it because I am an olde pilot. An uncle of mine has gone nuts over it and has over 2000 hours in the most dilapidated DC-3 you have ever seen. Perfect. Scenery is excellent, aircraft are realistic (well, a Cessna 172 doesn't really do loops and the crashes are very merciful).

Bought it because it was cheap and fun and rang a bell with my past.

Only bad thing is that you really do need a joystick to make it work well. The keypad alternatives just aren't very good. And, I am not much of a gamer, so don't have one. Maybe post-Christmas.

I would do it again. HOWEVER, bewere of the "combat" versions, because they require a joy stick with tactile feedback. Serious gamer stuff, there.

I bought this one to get some practice with the simulator. It has a wide variety of preplanned flights, aircraft and most of the airports in the world. There are some airplanes that I wish were included but - for my purposes - it is very good.

Good Purchase. Good Auction. Good Product.
Review created: 12/03/06

I would say that this was an above average auction as far as quality goes. I was told when the product was shipped, the approximate time it would arrive, and it did arrive in that time. The time was a little lengthy according to me, but it was as quoted. The packaging was not the best; below average, but nothing was harmed, other than the box the CDs came in. As far as E-bay goes, I like the newer format where the shipping and price are shown outright, so you don't have to search for it on the seller's page.

  MS Flight Simulator 2004

The old program (2004) is still an excellent Flight Simulator. While the new X program is a greatly improved Graphic representation, this program provides the highly technical input that adds to the skill of flying. It is the accuracy of the flight envelope & all the systems that support it (navigation, communication, etc.) that make it feel like the real thing. Those who have flown real airplanes know it's not the sightseeing that counts, it the technical aspect of take offs, flying and landing in all conditions - from sunup to sunset, night time and when the weather gets nasty. - Watch those cross winds. Happy simulating and when you can really purchase this program at bargin price - go for it.
PS- don't forget to search the internet & EBAY for the add- ons....

Realistic, accurate, educational, just plain fun!

As a private pilot, I've been interested in FS since the Apple days. I first flew a flight simulator on my Heathkit PC in 1982, using a BASIC program I entered from Heath/Zenith's magazine SEXTANT. I was able to fly it without visual references, only the gauges were visible. I've upgraded each time available, still debating on this latest release, as 2004 seems to have everything one could ask for. I've flow nearly every virtual aircraft offered, with varying degrees of success. Most often, my failures are because I 'jumped into the left seat' without reading the aircraft manuals. My favorite aircraft are the C172, the Robinson chopper, and my favorite cross-country aircraft, the Beech King Air. I have not used all the features of FS 2004 yet, so I don't know why I should upgrade. I've flown a few instrument approaches, but I would not say that would translate into a safe real-time experience. I've only crashed once, but that's enough to make me very careful! You don't get second-chances in real-life, and I take flying FS very seriously.

I'm currently engaged in a 50-state hop-n-skip, currently at Honolulu via B777, planning to take a B747 from there to Anchorage, B737 back to Seattle, then work my way east in the Beech King Air. I take the Robinson for local sightseeing, like Mt. St. Helens, and the Hawaiian volcanoes last week.

The controls are excellent, the communications are realistic (better than real-life!), the AP and GPS are fun to play with and take the load off while you sight-see or learn about additional features of the aircraft while flying. I like the optional views of the aircraft, and the replay features.

It's a great program, though I would not really call it a game. If you're looking for realism, it's excellent!
