The infamous bounty Hunter, Samus Aran, is finally back and in her first Gamecube game. Metroid Prime boasts a new experience for any Metroid fan, a first person shooter system. The player sees the world through Samus's eyes (or rather her helmet) and gains a new feeling toward the Metroid story. The Space Pirates are back and up to no good as they are now conducting wicked experiments using a newly discovered mutagen. This stuff can turn even the weakest monster into a vicious predator. Samus reunites with an old world and old enemies as her past is made more clear to us and we see just how horrible the pirates can be. Aside from offering a new view on Metroid, this game also could be known for it's fear factor. The music matches the mood and often while you are playing the game, you may get a shiver down your spine as a hidden creature shrieks and hops out of nowhere while there is complete silence or a scary tune playing. The Gamecube controller perfectly matches the game and isin't at all hard to get used to. Aside from scaring you from time to time, this game will give you hours of entertainment. If you like this game, you should check out it's sequel.

I HAVE FOLLOW THE SERIES SINCE THE NES ERA AND THIS IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE GAMES FROM THE METROID SERIES. CONTROL SET-UP WORKS GREAT. FUN AND ADDICTIVE , AND YOU CAN PICK UP A USED COPY FOR LESS THANK $10. GIVE IT TRY YOU WON'T BE DISSAPOINTED.

This game never gets boring and challenges you constantly. The kids and adults play this in my house and against each other. Makes you want to do it over and over again until you wipe those aliens out!!!!!!!!!

I love adventure games and usually leave the shooters on the shelf but Metroid Prime was awsome. This game has smooth controls, decent graphics, and awsome gameplay. If you have a GC there is no reason why you should not be playing this game!

When I first heard of this game i was sketchy as I always am when they put a excellent 2d game into a 3d platform.

However, even though there was that difference it still had the feel of the other games.

This game is VERY addicting. More so than the others in the series. You just want to see what's next and know more about the in depth story around Samus and the Metroids.

It is great fun for all ages, yet challenging enough to keep interest.

I recommend this to all Metroid fans. It is the first in a series of 'Prime' Metroid games. This one's surely a classic.

The game is engaging and not so easy to figure out. Good story line. We tried the game as a rental and decided to purchase it.

this is a really great game and this was a great price for it. now that i have a game cube i wanna get all the great games, this, mario, all the cool first person shooters!! this was really a fun purchase!!

This game cube game is about Metroid Prime and the various stages he must complete. Each stage has it's own traps and enemy Metroid must defeat. Metroid prime rates a 9 out of 10 if you ask me.

Graphics 5 stars, audio 5 stars (if I were from Spinal Tap, I'd give the audio an 11.)
This is one of the most innovative first person shooters I've played in a long time (as of 2008). Between the erie level design and the ultimate spacey sound track, this game will have you pinned to your seat for hours. There is a learning curve with all of the controller options, but you quickly get over the hump. My only gripe is with the control of the targetting computer. Once engaged, all you can do is strafe. That can get a tad perilous when engaging many enemies at once.

I liked the choices of different games and I boought it as a gift for my brother. He and I like different gaming platforms, and this is one of his favorite games and he wants it in every platform he can find.

I am a big fan of the Metroid Prime series. It is very challenging finding out where to go and what tunnels and paths to take but I finally made it and I'm about halfway done with adventure mode. I would recommend this game to anyone who likes a good first -person shooter type game. The main difference in this Metroid is that you are now playing the game in a first person shooter mode. I got the game several weeks ago and it was in great condition, it didnt have any problems at all and played just like new

Pros: Awesome graphics, with tons of cool effects. You can see the fog or water droplet on your visor, and more. The sound effects are also well done, even though there is no voice acting. The game plays out as a first person shooter, but if you press the X button on the controller Samus rolls up in a ball and the camera pulls out into a 3rd person perspective. Also, you get the ability to free-roam the world and are able to go back to practically any previous locations at any time. You also acquire new items, weapons and abilities as you progress forward. The enemies are very nicely done, and are diverse. Also, there are many larger than life boss battles.

Cons: The controls are uncomfortable. You are forced to WALK and LOOK around using the left analogue stick. This means that you have to stop then press and hold the right trigger + use left analogue stick to look up. Why didn't the developers use the left analogue stick to walk and the right stick to look around is a mystery. Instead the right analogue stick is used for weapon selection in the game. Which brings up the next flaw with Metroid Prime. The game only has 4 weapons! Even if you consider that every one of these 4 weapons can be 'charged up' for burst fire, and that each gun can be used to fire missiles. Still, the gun selection in the game is very limited. Finally, you are often forced to backtrack to locations after acquiring the one item that you need to move forward. Backtracking slows down the pace of the game.

Bottom Line: This is a must have title for the GameCube. Metroid Prime series are easily the best 1st person shooters on the GameCube.

This game is about Her enemy conducting experiments with these parasites called metroids that causes them to be very powerful and its up to samus to stop them all. This first person shoot is very intense and has serious action. All you Halo fans need to try this game out!
