This remake of the classic Playstation 1 hit Metal Gear Solid brings back everything that was awesome about the original game, and adds some new gameplay features, updated graphics engine, and a plethora of new videos.
MGS:TTS has been redone with the advanced graphics from Metal Gear Solid 2: The Sons Of Liberty, and also now allows you to shoot in a first person perspective. The game also now has the non-lethal M9 tranquilzer pistol along with the PSG1-T, the non-lethal sniper rifle. This makes it possible to complete the game without killing any opponents; adding a new angle to the game.
I highly recommend it to anyone who is a fan of the series, or if you are looking for an awesome action/adventure/espionage game to play!
I had been told that if you love Splinter Cell, then you'd love this game. HA! That was wrong. It doesn't even compare. Like one of the reviews said, the dialog is kinda weird and cheesy. And the sound effects were even worse. I wouldn't spend more than $5 on this game. It is fun at times, but overall, kind of boring, and there are too many long movies and dialog and not enough action. I give this a thumbs down.
The Twin Snakes is an excellent cinematic experience and is definitely the beginning to the most well written game series ever: Metal Gear Solid. Worth anyone's time, especially a fan of the series.
I like the game, it's very entertaining and gives deep depth about Solid Snake, the game was perfect, I wish I got a case but Oh well, I bought it cause I'm a fan of Metal Gear Solid, which is why I have part 2, Brawl, gonna get part three and saving for a PS3 to buy Part Four.
The Game is retold with graphics that are on par with Metal Gear Solid 2. The Gameplay is great abd Story is Great well. kudos to Hideo Kojima As always.
I played the PS one for a long time and this time when I revisit it again.... it's all upgraded graphic with MGS2 controls which gives the old game more freedom and better feel. This is a must buy for the people who loves the series!
Great game. I first became interested in the Metal Gear series when Solid Snake went in brawl, and being only a Nintendo owner for life, I picked up this game without playing any of the others (and hence can't compare it to the original or any of the other sequels). The game was very fun, a rather different play style and incredibly immersive. I felt like I was actually Snake, my heart was racing as I tried to sneak past guards, or make sure rooms weren't booby trapped. Also, the game had the best storyline of any game I've played, as well some really ingenious fights (specifically, Psycho Mantis).
The game time is pretty short though: on my first try, I think I played for 8 hours and on my fourth try (which was a speed run), it took me around 2 hours. There are also like 8 hours of cinematic and codec conversations that really make the game amazing though, as they really develop the story and characters. Definately one of the best games I've ever played.
Metal Gear Solid was an excellent game on the ps2. And a remake with MGS2 graphics, abilities, and some new weapons make for an even better experience. Though the original is an instant classic, for anyone who hasnt experienced MGS must play this.
Meta Gear Solid. Some say it's the best game series ever. I say it's a very excellent one. Some will also bash the Twins Snakes for what ever various reasons. I say if you havent played a Metal Gear Solid game and have a Gamecube or Wii I say at least give this game a rental. First thing you should know is this game is NOT both Metal Gear Solid 1 and Metal Gear Solid 2 in the same game. It is just a remake of the first Metal Gear Solid game using the graphics engine and controls of the second game. Basically in the game you play a soldier code named Solid Snake who has to infiltrate a nuclear disposal facility on Shadow Moses Island and stop the terrorists who invaded the place before they launch a nuke. Snake soon finds out that the military was actually working on a bipedal tank called Metal Gear REX that could launch a nuke from pratically any terrain. Eventually he comes across a scientitst named Hal Emmerich (also known as Otacon) after fighing off the Cyborg Ninja. After rescuing Otacon and telling him that Metal Gear REX was not to help people but designed to be a weapon Snake goes on to take out an elite unit called FOXHOUND, save a gir named Meryl, take out his twin brother Liquid Snake, and destroy REX with some help from Otacon, Meryl, and a certain someone.
If you have played the original or haven't this game is awesome. Great graphics and smooth gameplay w/ extra features. Must buy for any metal gear solid fan.
This is the remake of the original Metal Gear Solid for the PSX. I can't believe it took me this long to start playing this series -- but I'm glad I got to start it on the Gamecube. Great controls, great graphics, tons of content from the start. A must own for Gamecube and Wii owners.
If you are a Metal Gear Fan and you see this game somewhere (new or used), you'd better buy it. Not only just to play or have in your un-opened collection, but you should buy it before it disappears... GOOD LUCK!

Great game. I am a fan of the metal gear series and this is a top notch remake of the original Metal Gear Solid and not one of those unchanged re-released versions of old games that are only meant to milk the most out of the original. This game has all new cutscenes, graphics, and updated abilities that are from Sons of Liberty (also included!). At the used price today, If you have not played/finished the original, or if you are simply a fan of Metal Gear, this is a remake that won't dissapoint.
I love everything about this game. You can't Go Wrong with MGS. It is an Excellent Series. I hope this one has VR Missions. I love those for getting better before you tackle the real thing. This has been a extra long awaited title for me as I had sold my gamecube and rebought one for games just like this.
I bought this game for my 2 teenage sons. They have the whole Metal Gear Solid Series of games. The graphics in this one was outstanding. I only play one game for the Playstation 2, Guitar Hero Series. But this game is awesome.
A lot of action, fun to play. difficult game to play. Have the sequels to the game. That all . XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
I saw a reviewer say that there's too much cheesy dialog and cutscenes; they don't understand Metal Gear. The gameplay isn't revolutionary, but it works, but MGS is much more than that. It has a wonderful story and well-choreographed cutscenes, although it does begin to make you think "That doesn't seem possible." This game's story and dialog rivals great stories such as FFVII. Also, there are above-average voice actors that in some ways exceed the Japanese actors, which is rare. I recommend this only if you want an entertaining story and good long cutscenes. If you're looking for a great gameplay experience, try Splinter Cell, since sometimes you can play this game with heavy action, something you can't do in Splinter Cell.
If espionage, suspense, tactical scenarios, and plenty of attitude sound like the makings of a great game for you, then Metal Gear Solid is it. The Twin Snakes is a complete remake for the Nintendo GameCube of the classic playstation title. Twin Snakes brings fans of the original adventure a more energetic retake of the personalities and action found within the original game. The Twin Snakes boasts some very impressive dynamic action similar to effects found in movies like "the Matrix." The voice acting has been completely redone, though personally the Playstation original had more charge and emotion. What you'll find is the same action intensive story with a few quirky twists in the in-between movies. If you want to revamp the graphical aspect to a tried and true gaming experience, then Twin Snakes is like a fresh breath of air.
I loved the game. It's has two games - One is the original Metal Gear Solid for the PS and the second is Sons of Liberty which can be found on the PS2. They remade the graphics, sounds, and items in Metal Gear Solid. Everything is superb!
You have to know games to understand why this game gets a 5 from me. Basically this game is so good story wise that I'm suprised it's not a book. It's spawned two sequels and had two prequels before this game so you have to know it's good. The cinematics are just as beautiful as the story. However, you have to be patient and actually PAY ATTENTION! To understand the brilliance of Hideo Kojima's story. Something young people have a hard time doing and I'm 18! Anyways... sure Splinter Cell has better graphics and gameplay, but I would quickly choose this game over it because I have a hard time getting in a game that doesn't envoke meaning on me and this game does not have that bad of gameplay and graphics as the Playstation version. Believe me this game is worth it... I would pick it over Splinter Cell anyday because it's rare these days that games have true meaning... If you don't understand read some of Will Wright's speeches... he's basically one of the fathers of video gaming.
This game is amazing. Possibly the best metal gear game ever made is updated in this version with better graphics for the game cube. That is the only drawback that it was released on game cube and not PS2. Anyways if you are a fan of Metal Gear you should buy Twin Snakes.
This is a good game for all you who loved the Metal Gear for Playstation. I purchased it for my GameCube. It's basically the same game with a lot better graphics and screenplay.
This game is awesome! I first played it on ps1 and now is the first time I played MGS since awhile. It took a little time to get used to but after that the game play is great! The graphics are good and there are many cutscenes that only gamecube has. Overall, I really like this game.
