Lets face it.... cars are a luxury, therefore an expense. The simple fact is, no matter how you look at it, even if your car runs perfect all the time, you still have to put gas in it to make it go. Expense! But who's car runs perfect all the time? If you have one, let me know so I can get one too! But honestly, at some point in time your car needs some attention. Whether it is the simple oil change, brakes, or something more difficult, wouldn't it be nice to do it yourself as opposed to shelling out a bunch of cash to have someone else do it for you? The Haynes line of repair manuals are perfect for the novice level and up do it yourselfers! Not only do they put the tasks in an easy to understand text, they use excellent photographs to accompany the written repair. Making this a extremely valuable asset to someone with a little motivation to save themselves some hard earned money!
I agree with the previous review. This book is just about useless. Very few torque specifications are given, and those that are, are hard to find. If you are planning on working on your Mercedes, I would urge you to find FACTORY Mercedes shop manuals (the ones with the light green cover) on eBay. Yes they are expensive, but well worth. Another good book is "Mercedes Benz Technical Companion" by Bentley Publishers. It is compilation of 45 years of technical articles from The Star, the magazine of the Mercedes-Benz club of America.
