The Game That Started It All

It is not often that a great gem like Mega Man is released. It is the very first Mega Man game ever made, and the game that started an explosively popular video game franchise loved by gamers worldwide. In this game, you play the role of Mega Man, and you must fight your way through 6 different stages to defeat 8 different Robot Masters that have been programmed for evil by the mad scientist Dr. Wily. After defeating the 6 Robot Masters, you must fight through 4 more stages at Dr. Wily's lair, and eventually fight Dr. Wily himself to finish the game. This is the only Mega Man game that does not feature a password screen, and also the only Mega Man game to keep score. The game may seem slightly simplistic compared to the other 5 NES Mega Man games, but by no means does that mean this title is bad. I highly recommend picking up a copy.

MEGA MAN - THE DEFINITION OF A CLASSIC GAME
Review created: 06/07/06
by:

This is one game that stood out from the rest back in 1987 when this game came out. Amazing graphics and great gameplay make this game highly sought after. Mega Man is made up of six stages. At the end of each stage there is a boss with a unique power. If you beat the boss, you gain it's unique power which will help you beat the other bosses. Beat all 6 bosses and you unlock the massive 7th stage and make your way to the final boss, Dr. Wily. If you own an NES system, this is definitely a must own game. If you don't own this game, what are you waiting for? Check out my Ebay auctions. I may have one up for bid.

Yes, this is the first ever Mega Man game!

Pros:
This game came out of nowhere to become a instant classic!

Cons:
The price of finding one may not be cheap.

The original Mega Man (Capcom, December 1987, Nintendo Entertainment System) Something weird happened and my NES http://www.epinions.com/content_29402828420 review was moved to the N64 edition and the original Mega Man listing was deleted altogether. Oh well, sorry aboot the confusion, eh? "Here it is!" The first ever Mega Man game, whether you call him the Rock or the Blue Bomber here's where it all started and you really can't go wrong with a good Mega Man game. The first Mega Man is famous for having some of the worst artwork on a game box ever. "The guy on the front looks like he has to...

Pros:
Fun to play, difficult mode to unlock, lots of stuff to buy.

Cons:
Out of date graphics, short game, strange controls, doesn't feel like Mega Man

I don't really make New Year's resolutions, but if I did, it would be to start putting up reviews for all of my old games. Anyway, trying to follow through with that resolution I didn't make, here's Mega Man 64 Out of all my N64 games, there are a few that shine with greatness. Unfortunately, Mega Man 64 isn't one of them. The game, ported from the Playstation game "Mega Man Legends," still has enough uniqueness to make it stand out and be counted as a slightly above average game. STORY --- Forget anything you've ever known about Mega Man--this story doesn't tie in at all. Mega man is a ...

A Divergent Kind of Adventure Game
Review created: 01/02/02
by: davidnicholus -- a member of Epinions

Pros:
There are multitudinous objectives and various precincts to attain. It resplendently subsumes a massive gameplay.

Cons:
The objectives can easily become inordinately confusing and even annoying and irritating at some places.

"Different", is definitely one word that describes this game. Mega Man is an adventure game (and it is obvious that it is), but I can't compare its presentation to any other Nintendo 64 game that I know of. Really, not the game itself, but the layout of the game is a mixture of the Pokemon games for Gameboy, Mario adventure for the N64, and maybe even an exiguous bit of TWINE for the N64. To be truthful, when I first saw this game, I expected to hate it. I'm not a big fan of hardcore adventure games or the other Mega Man games for Super Nintendo. I thought that this game would be another copy.

"Rock" on, Blue Bomber! Today, you become a star!
Review created: 11/13/02

Pros:
For an NES game, it sure is challenging.

Cons:
It's extremely hard to find...

It's unbelievable that it's been fifteen years since the release of the very first Mega Man game on the Nintendo Entertinment System. While not as popular as its predecessors (or even remotely as easy to find), it was the game that started the whole "Blue Bomber" phenomenon, and from which spawned several sequels and "spinoff" series under the Mega Man trademark. It all began when Drs. Thomas Light and Albert Wily created their first two fully functional humanoid robots, known as Rock (Mega Man) and Roll. They were pleased with their success, and then proceeded to create a group of robots to..
