Is It The Real Thing Or Is It A Wolf In Sheep Wool? That is why you need this book. It has really big bright colorful photographs that you can search through to perhaps find that treasure you found hiding in your Grandmother's closet. McCoy put out pottery for over 70 years. The factory changed name several times in those years and the markings changed along with the changes. Also we collectors have found in all pottery and other glassware too, hat they were not always marked. Or if they were the used paper tags on a lot of there pottery. The actual dishes you cooked with and ate off of never kept there tags. Most of the time if you washed it off came the tag. This book helps you to spot styles and lines of ware they put out. The book also helps you date things and to know the colors they used and when. t Is a very nice book you will get yeas of use from. I have so far. Good luck on your hunts and enjoy!
I love McCoy Pottery. This book has great quality pictures and wonderful detail. You can find the answers you need to your questions about a piece in this book. Very well designed. It was very reasonably priced also. I enjoy it very much.
This book has great information not found in most reference books. first year of production, glaze colors produced, sizes and wonderful photographs. There are also photos of dogs in pots to show size comparisons. Wonderful book!

Pros: Clear color photos arranged in an easy to research fashion
Cons: Out of date prices; check Ebay and auctions for the real values

We need good books, with good pictures, and clear and concise information on the people that made whatever it is we have. If you collect Nelson McCoy Pottery,(or think that find from the garage sale is "the real McCoy"), this book will go a long way towards getting you started. Hundreds of color photographs of vases, flower pots and cookie jars will help you learn the style of McCoy and help you identify...
