Marvel vs. Capcom 2 = CHAOTIC SEIZURE FUN
Review created: 05/03/06

I'm not joking, this game is very chaotic and might just possibly give the most immune adult a seizure. With up to six characters on the screen at a time, 56 total characters, and a ton of special moves; this game is amazingly chaotic! Play as all of your favorite Marvel and Capcom characters, including the ones that no one has ever heard of (really, we don't know where they came from). If you try this great 2D fighter, you may never go back to 3D!!

Although Marvel vs. Capcom 2 may be a button masher for some, air combos, infinities, and other moves require quite a bit of skill to pull off. Try for a 100+ hit combo, it's definitely possible!

The Dreamcast version of this game is the only console version of this game which gives 100% NAOMI arcade emulation. Thanks to Dreamcast's NAOMI hardware, everything is 100% in this game and there is never any slowdown like in its XBOX and PS2 counterparts. Also, thanks to the Dreamcast's excellent design, loading times are absolutely non-existant.

2D Games R super addictive; As addictive as 2D can get!

Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 is a game that you'll never get tired of! Addictive! Ha! From the introduction title screen, this game will blow you away and take hold of you and won't let go! Like I said in my post about the DC, this is my favorite game ever! Wikipedia(goggle it by typing in "Marvel vs capcom 2" "wikipedia") says that the DC version is the closest to the arcade version and that it easier to find at a cheaper price, when compared to PS2 and XBOX; you'll swear that you're playing a personalized arcade! There are few, if any, pauses! It has the best backgrounds(3D, some of which even move, and are so, so smooth and seamless) and the best sounds/musical themes(so, so smooth and flow exactly along with the action) of any fighting game ever; it has the best superpower animated action(game play)/super moves of any fighting game ever; it has the best characters(most hidden) of any fighting game ever; how can characters for a fighting game get better than the best superheroes and supervillians? Answer: There's no way. What company has the longest running fighting franchise in all of gaming history? Answer: Capcom. How can any other 2D game compete? Answer: It can't! This game has characters for every taste and I mean it; you won't believe some of the characters this game has; many characters can't be found on any other game; not only that, this collection is so complete that you'll probably need at least 3 of the most popular new and old gaming consoles(along with games) and about 10 additional coin-op arcades to even come close to using all of the characters seperately in a game; that should give you some perspective of the value. While not the only great tag team game out there, it is the best; you'll love the ways the tag teams can interact on this game! However you might rate video games, this game rates first or second in every conceivable 2D gaming category!

MVC2 combines super powers, guns, warrior fighting, trademark moves, air/ground combos, super slams, crushing attacks, bizarre moves, and special KO combos into one game! My favorite characters are Iron Man, Cable, War Machine, Spiderman, Venom, Akuma, Wolverine, Naruto(or the guy with the lightning blue sword), Cyclops, and that's all of my favorites that I can think of off the top of my head. I like to fight against the green alien/octopus looking creature that shoots eyes at you, Omega Red, and the super living cactus; I always seem to get a challenge when I fight them. Definitely better than the first, everything is better; in fact, if you have the second one, as I do, then you probably will find the first one boring. There's nothing lacking with this game and I give it an excellent rating. I'm out of superlatives here and so let me finish by saying that you'll be in an addictive cloud as you're playing this Sega Naomi arcade smash on the Dreamcast Sega Naomi arcade console! Dreamcast is now much cheaper than the other high quality systems and you'll have to play it to see that I'm not fibbing in the slightest! Wikipedia agrees with me!

If you have a problem boy 10 years or older, then try this game out for them, as they're eyes will be glued to the the screen for as long as it is on(not the hardest game to play, yet is super, super fun)!

The greastest arcade matchup in this millinium!

Do you like Street Fighter?, Do you like Marvel Comics?, Do you like upbeat jazz? Well if you answered "yes" to questions 1 & 2 and "no" to question 3 then "Marvel vs. Capcom 2 might be just the game for you. pick a team of 3 superheros to fight in 3 on 3 elimination battles. the pick of fighters is endless. you can create an X-Men team using Cyclops, Wolverine, and Iceman vs. Capcom's Ryu, Ken, and Guile. or have Magneto, Thanos, & M.Bison go against Blackheart, Sentinal, and Venom. The team up combinations are endless, and the fighting system is top notch as a street fighter or marvel fighting game should be. The music as i stated above is the low point of the game: who in their right mind decided to put jazz as the background music for a fighting game? I guess rather than spend the extra dough to license the music from the original street fighter game? or they could've used the theme to the "X-men" cartoon show that was on Fox in the early to mid 90's. All in all if you want a good fighting game that has long playablity then this the one to get.

Duh! It's only the greatest fighting game of ALL TIME. The Dreamcast version is a direct port of the arcade game and if you have the Dreamcast's 6 button fighting stick can burn the skin off your hands just like in the arcade! Sweet! Lighting fast gameplay and a cast of great characters make this a fighter bar none. This game has some of the coolest special moves ever seen. Some of my personal favorites are BB Hood (Bulleta from Vampire Savior), Blackheart, Captain America, Cyclops, Dr. Doom, Juggernaut, Storm and Iron Man but Jin, Hayato, Strider, Kobun, Wolverine, War Machine, Spiderman, Venom and Gambit kick major a$$. 50 plus character make this one of the best fighters of all time.

The game looks absolutely brand new...it was somewhat nostalgiac to open the game and find everything the way it was supposed to be. Plays well, too (as well as you can play this game with a DC controller, anyway), considering the rarity of this game I'm surprised to find it in such mint condition!

A unique and fun 2D fighting game.
Review created: 08/08/07

A great game for fans of old-school 2D fighting games, with flashy, fast-paced graphics; a unique gameplay style; and many fighters to play as (I believe close to 80 or even higher) and fight against, once unlocked. The gameplay is unique because of the tag-team style of fighting, allowing you to switch from one fighter to the other or even to combine hyper combos for a much greater effect.

Graphics are great, gameplay is great, sound and music are about average to good. Replay value is high. It makes for a fun and complete game.

Marvel VS Capcom 2- An Excellent Product
Review created: 08/07/07

I purchased this game recently and have no complaints whatsoever. I bought it because it was very inexpensive when compared to retail stores. Elsewhere, I've found the same exact game for around double or sometimes even triple the price that I got it for on eBay. It came in excellent condition and had a look-alike case which I was very satisfied with. I bought the game for the game itself, not the original casing. But, it was a very nice and unexpected finishing touch. The game itself performs extremely well. The disc is flawlessly preserved with no scratches or scrapes at all. Overall, it was a great deal for such high quality. I am 100% satisfied with my purchase.

I bought this game because they took it out of our local arcade. I like the fact that there are a ton of character's to pick from, athough not all of the fighters are very good.. The gameplay is nice and smooth while having only a few stages to pick from kinda ruins it... The combo's are also a little dificult to pull off but you get used to it quickly. All in all this game is a good fighter for anybody from people who are just starting to know the genra and vetrans alike.

  Best Video Game/Collector's item ever
Review created: 01/03/07
by:

This is a Capcom game and ANYONE who plays video games knows that Capcom games are becoming rare. The value of such games just increase every year. I bought this game because it is a sought after collector's item and the fact that it was scratch free and in mint condition warranted an immediate purchase.

I bought this version (dreamcast) because any review you read says that it's better than the Xbox version as far as fluency is involved (whereas the xbox version is more colorful). Well, give me fluency and less jagged edges over brighter colors anytime.

This game is very worth a try. Buy this game if you’re careless about graphic and only for play for fun. If you own dreamcast, and ps2 and/or xbox, get the dreamcast version because it very close to arcade perfect port.
I have to thank to dremcast version for making me a better player for playing arcade. Over all, I rate this highest because, this game doesn’t get bored so easily.

Best fighting game waiting for MvsC3

This game is definatly the best Street Fighter/ fighting game I have ever purchased, I wasn't entirly sure if I was going to like it but I was wrong, the controls are the best the fighting is fast and it has a lot of replay value since you have to unlock just about everything. The only thing I dislike about the game is the soundtrack. The music doesn't suit the game one bit.

The first home release of MvC 2 and still the best.
Review created: 07/09/06
3 of 4 people found this review helpful.

MvC2 is exactly what it sounds like: characters from the Marvel world and the Capcom world duke it out in over-the-top 2D graphics. With over 50 different characters to choose from (including Cable (from the X-Men universe), Jill Valentine (from Resident Evil), and Tron Bonne (from Mega Man Legends), among others), part of the fun is just coming up with new and different three person teams.

Which brings me to the fighting. Players choose teams of three, adjusting settings (such as what type of support attacks your non-active partners do, etc) and then they head out to fight. While the characters are 2D, the backgrounds are in full 3D...which is a nice touch, but since they do nothing to affect gameplay, you'll quickly forget about them (especially the one with the giant clown face - ugh). The controls are loose and responsive, allowing even beginners to piece together combos and special moves with relative ease. Anyone who has played any Capcom fighting game before will feel at home with these tired and true controls.

What really lets this game shine is how much fun it is to just sit down and play this game. Three character teams allow for a lot of trial and error when it comes to creating your own "perfect" team. Fighting is fierce and fast, constantly keeping you on your toes while also making this game a quick and easy pick-up.

But what it all boils down to is two player action. Nothing beats finding a great, working team of characters that shutdown a friend's favorite team or unleashing your entire team's super moves on a defenseless player, turning the tide of a close battle. You can still have plenty of fun with this game alone, unlocking all the secrets, but once that is over, what keeps this product such a high level product is multi-player.

Now, as a buyer, you have three versions to choose from when buying this game. The Dreamcast version is slightly superior than the two re-releases on the PS2 and Xbox with cleaner, less pixelated graphics and a much smaller price tag. If you love 2D, over-the-top fighting, any of Capcom's other Vs. titles or are looking for a new multiplayer title, give this game a try! It will not disappoint!

Them game is the best 2d fighting game. There are some small differences from the arcade verson just like the first Marvel Vs Capcom. Great game if you have a friend to play with, but if you are playing solo there are enought different fighters that get matched up in teams of 3 that keep things different.
