Marley & Me by John Grogan (2005)

The audio version of Marley & Me, narrated by the author, is a great way to bring back all of the nuances this warmhearted story. The rule here is, you must read the book first!

If you have now or have ever had a lab there's no way you won't enjoy this. Sit back and listen to a wonderful story.

I have read the book and having a yellow lab, could relate to some of the events. This is a must have for all dog owners/lovers. I bougth the audio version for my husband who spends a lot of time in his car, travelling to work sites across eastern Canada.

I purchased this as a gift for a dog lover. The story of Marley and her family is absolutely hilarious.

I am glad to get the cd with a short time. It is hard to find this item in France. I hope to find more interresting items from this saler.

This audiobook was enjoyable to all ages. It was a very touching story of a dog and it's relationship and meaning to his owner and his family. This story was very well written and spoken. I chose it because it was on the best seller list. I highly recommend it.

Even if you can't relate,what a joy. Anyone that has experience the crazy love of a Lab can really appreciate this story though. I have had many Labs just like Marley, my last one enjoyed snacking from my husbands bolt bin in his shop! What a crazy dog he was, man I miss that bad boy too. I highly recommend this story and can't wait to see the movie. I would like to add that this is not a sad dying dog book, it is about the wonderful and crazy life with a loyal friend.

I bought this on audio CD and listened to it to pass the time on a long drive. As I listened, my emotions ran the gamut of laughter, sadness, irritation, disagreement, fear and understanding. While I do not agree with some of the training tactics used by the author, would never, EVER buy a dog (much less from a backyard breeder - rescue from a shelter!!) and could NEVER see myself going on a family vacation if my beloved dog's health was hanging in the balance, the majority of the rest of the book was a positive experience and I enjoyed it immensely. John Grogan definitely has a flair for humorous writing and this book is a very quick, easy read. Check it out, you won't be sorry!

Just a greeat book at the right price, got it in good time. It was in good condition when I received it. Sometimes these items arrive disheveled, but this one came in one piece in good condition.

I bought this book on CD as I have a long drive to work everyday. What a great story and easy listening. I like many others have had Labs and they are the best! This book gave me memories of "My Girl" who died at the young age of 8 because her stomach flipped when I was at work. She gave me so much love and happiness in my life as I am sure Marley did for the Grogans even though he did bad things at times.
Read this or listen to it on CD and you will also laugh and cry. . . .
I recommend it to everyone of all ages and now the author has a children's version.

I had heard a lot about this book from other animal lovers like me. It was great - I laughed and cried. A definite read for dog lovers. Since I bought the Audiobook, I have had several requests from friends to borrow it. Anyone who has ever had a dog can relate to different parts of the story. Loved it.

just finished Marley and Me last night. I picked it up last weekend at Barnes & Noble as I was walking near the magazines. The adorable photo on the cover caught my eye....they had a display of the book out in the open. Being an avid animal and dog lover, I couldn't pass it up.

Needless to say, I devoured the book in two days. I loved it. To me it was so refreshing to see such commitment in another dog owner. I have always believed that when you adopt a pet it should be part of the family, and it is a lifelong commitment. You don't give up and get rid of them, just because of hard times or problems.

I applaud Mr. Grogan, and his family, for being the kind of people who love and care for their dog friends and for writing such a heartfelt tribute to his pal, Marley. Pets ask for so little and return so much.

I have had many dogs and I always get a kick out of the commercial on TV for a new ziplock dogfood bag for a certain chow...they use the expression "Dogs Rule". How perfect. There is nothing quite like having a dog, whether they have impeccable manners or not.

I laughed and I cried and I understood everything that Mr. Grogan had to say. I also live in Florida so I felt a special connection to the Grogans when they were speaking of the culture here and the thunderstorms--and how dogs hate them.

All in all, Mr. Grogan's writing is clear and interesting and down to earth. I couldn't put the book down. It is a joy.

I even went so far and to visit the website he has listed in the book. There was an email address to write to him, which I did, and I was absolutely amazed when Mr. Grogan wrote back to me three hours later to thank me for my nice comments.

Do yourself a favor and read the book.....you'll close it in the end and your heart will feel like it is too large to fit inside your chest.

Ever since this particular book premiered in stores, the reviews to read it was amazing. So I figured oh eventually I would buy the book when it came in paperback and would be much less expensive. Well then I completely forgot about until I ran across it on eBay. Then I thought hey, maybe I can find it brand new for a real steal or if not then a good used copy would do. Well after a few months watching here and there for the book, I finally found a good used copy that had just the right price and grabbed the opportunity to finally get it. And boy am I glad I did because its a book that if you love animals, you have got to read it. They should even make a movie because it will make you cry and laugh so much. So eBay is the place to shop for all ones needs!

A must for dog owners and/or lovers! You will laugh and cry. A story well told. We have two Labs and can "identify" and emphathise with the author.

We saw this in book form on a book rack and after reading the jacket decided to try it in audio. It was really really good. Marley was indeed a wonderfully worst behaved dog. Highly recommend to all folks that own and love a pet.

My Mom read the book and kept telling me I needed to hear it cause there was so much and so many things Marley did that my Guide Dog does. I found it on here, E-Bay, for a great price, amnd it was brand new. It had me in stitches with things Marley did, not all that my Guide has done, but remember back to being a kid and growing up with St. Bernards and many other dogs I related to most of the book, even the sad stuff. Like I said if you are a dog person, THIS IS A MUST READ OR LISTEN TO BOOK. You will laugh hard as you know Marley and your dog(s) as well

I purchased the book and read it myself and sincerely believe the book is a must read for any dog lover. I truly appreciated and could understand the author’s feelings and story about his dog and ended up purchasing the book for my brother, sisters, and my son, and the audio cd set for as a gift for my elderly parents.

Everyone in my family loved the book however; my parents and I were disappointed in the audio cds due to the inferior quality. This is an exciting, humorous story however; the lack of unvarying quality and lack of enthusiasm in the reader’s voice left our interest lacking. I would definitely recommend purchasing the book over the audio cd.

My husband and I drive to Arizona for the winter. It is a long drive, but books on tape or dvd's make it not only tolerable, but enjoyable. Because we are gone for 3 or 4 months, library rental is not an option. When I find a book on dvd that we both would like, and the price is reasonable, I feel I am gettting a real bargain. This was one of those.

Loved this book! As being a new owner of a yellow lab (Vinny!) I was able to relate to the antics of this breed! I touching story that will affect everyone! I bought this on ebay to save money!
