Nintendo Wii: Mario Party 8

Mario Party is the game that has brought me back to
Nintendo. I originally discovered it back for the N64
and then I once again played it on the gamecube. When I
heard that they were making number 8 for the Wii I decided
to buy the entire system for that game.

Mario Pary games are like electronic board games. Up to
four people can play and you roll an electronic dice like
a board game. You then move on the board. At the end of
each person's board you play a "Mini-game". These mini
games are either 4 on 4, battle 4 on 4, cooperative teams,
or 1 on 3 games. You compete for coins that you can use
to buy stars during the game. The player with the most
stars & coin combination wins.

This game had 4 30+ year olds having a blast at my home!
It was beyond fun. We were giggling and moving like no
other party before.

Mario Party 8 takes great advantage of the Wii remote system.
At the start you have to swing your remote up to roll your dice.
You have normal pointing and moving motions along with a dart
throwing motion at points.

The mini games greatly use the controller. You are shooting,
balancing, lassoing, shaking, and so on! Great fun. :)

I was not disappointed. This is the second game that I have
purchased (and I rarely purchase games, only rent). I'm so
happy that I have a Wii now. :)

I bought this Wii game two weeks ago. Beside the fast shipment, I was surprised that game DVD has virtually no scratch on the surface. Normally I have seen many games have poor conditions but this is not.

My boyfriend has other Mario Party games for Game cube, and we saw this and decided we wanted to give it a try. It's super fun, but he likes it more than I do because he wins all the time. But I definitely give this game 2 thumbs up!!! :)

I wanted to buy Mario Party 8 because I played it on my cousin's Wii and it was fun. The match between my sister and I was so close, it ended in a draw! Once I got it home we played the five different maps available (not including Bowser's map) then we got tired of it.

The game lets you earn carnival cards to unlock stuff like in Mario Party 7, but none of it is compelling enough to make we want to play it over and over. The mini-games make good use of the Wii remote, and it's hard to determine who will win, but they're not much better than all the other mini-games in all the other Mario Parties.

In the end it's just another Mario Party with a few more bells and whistles, but without the ability to keep you interested. It's a multiplayer game though, so I'll be keeping it for that purpose.

This is a great game for kids and even adults. This game promotes counting and thinking without pushing it in your childs face. Great game.

A little too deep of a game easy to get lost but a lot of fun for the whole family when you enjoy the mini-games. Good fun for the whole family.

My kids (8 yrs old and 6 yrs old) absolutely loves this game... they love the little games plus collecting all the little prizes that they win... even the adults enjoy playing this game...

I bought this game because my 12 year old son wanted it. I too lov this game and play it with or with out the kids. It was a great purchase and I am so pleased with it.

Great family game especially if your family loves playing board games. Mario Party 8 brings board games to life while adding in fun competitive minigames. Great family fun!

I bought this game on a recommendations from a couple friends who really liked it. I do like the many different games that you play within the game. I don't like that things like the introduction takes a long time to get through and if you are playing with the computer it takes a long time between turns. Its definatly not a game that you can just play a quick game. All in all its an average to good game for me.

First off the bad, the lack of game boards. 6 is good, but it could've used more. Second the lack of character voice for dialog and the over repetiveness of sounds and phrases gets annoying quick. The good thing is that it's a simple and easy to pick up game to play and it's fun. Especially all the mini games when competing against buddies. Good graphics and fairly fun gameplay make it an overall good game once you ignore the minor things.

I am too new to the gaming world to really review this. It is lots of fun even on the very basic level...I am sure there is alot more to it than I have learned yet! My son (who is a gamer) loves it!

I bought the game for my brother and feel in love with it, he did too! we both play is all the time! it's awesome! It has many games to choose from, you can't go wrong with this game! My brother and I love it!

The game showed up quickly in the original wrapping. Thank you very much. I have not yet had time to play but am looking forward to it.

Love the comical nature. Love the mini games. Love the carnival theme.
Do NOT love...fact that it takes forever to play when you have only one human player or even 2 human players--- must go through the 2/3 computer players' turn. Wish you could click the A button to fast forward through computer player's turns!!!!!!

My 21 year old son was waiting get this game.He already had other games from other consoles and he really enjoy them.Well he is playing this game and love the challenge,the graphics and the whole game is great ,we all enjoy playing as a family.

As with all the other Mario Party games , if you like the older ones you will probably like this one too. Hours of playing time make it worth the price.

The Mini games are where its at. A total modern Boardgame. A group of 4 will really enjoy this. If you like to drink there are many opertunities to make this into a drinking game.

I just love anything Mario. I grew up with Mario games back with the first nintendo. The graphics are great and the games are fun.

This game has great graphics, but all you do is read instructions. It is a very non-challenging, non-thinking game. Not much fun.
