I don't even know how to begin... but this book came to be in my hands in a most unusual way, brought to work by a student nurse ( her instructor would have been most upset not just that she brought a non school related book to clinical but this subject would have put her right over the edge). I read a bit during breaks and went right our to get it after work, I would have finished it that night but forced myself to put it down as I had to be to work at 6:45 am. But that is not all a dear friend had recently died and I had been praying/ thinking that reincarnation had to be real at least for some as my friend died young troubled and in an accident. Within days this book was there for me. It is awesome, Dr. Weiss has the ability to write like this was a novel that you just can't get enough of. I will NEVER sell mine. I have read it many times and will again.

This is the first of Dr. Weiss that I have read. And his writing was difficult at first. I have been reading the Sylvia Browne books and Dr. Weiss's book certainly has a different approach. B. Lynwalter

  Very good , fast service
Review created: 05/29/08

Good, fast, service. Book was in excellent condition and I received it in a very timely manner. I would do business with this person again. Sorry I haven't prepared a lengthy review but I just don't have the time. This new policy is not necessary in my opinion but I do want to leave this person a positive review. Thanks again.

This is a re-read for me. I lent my book, and it never came back, so I purchased another copy.

I highly recommend this book. Dr. Weiss is so rational in his initial accounting of reincarnation. I find the book inspiring in the lessons it offers.

I bought this book as a recommendation from a friend. I loved it and passed in on when I finished. I it clearly written and easy to follow. The book held my interest and I couldn't wait to continue reading. The book follows hypnosis sessions of one women adn her therapist. During these sessions, she revealed 87 past lives and as a result, her corrent problems resolved.

One of the best books out there on life after death!
Review created: 09/01/07

A very well written book by a very well-educated doctor who had nothing to gain by writing the book. Very easy to read, and the story he tells is simply amazing. I only wish that he had written more, or perhaps written a second book about additional experiences he has had with patients and their previous life experiences.

For one struggling with my spirituality, this book hit the mark! Recommended by a neighbor, it tells the tue tory of Brian Weiss, and how he went from being a no-nonsense, straight laced psychiatrist into discovering, and being coming very convinced of the idea that we all have had past lives, and the spirit continues to move on. Seen through his eyes and one patient of his, adn giving examples of what he discovers as being pretty probable! I recommend all of his books for anyone struggling with faith and spirituality. This book DOES NOT rule out the idea of a supreme being(s)!

This is a fascinating book written about a doctor's experience hypnotizing a woman with psychological problems. He learns that she her soul has lived in many bodies and she learns a lesson each time she is in one of them.
Read it with an open mind. I did and it has changed the way I view death. I loved it!! It's hard to put it down!

This is a truly inspirational book. Taking into account that it is a true story, I would say it's remarkably impressive. This is the perfect book aimed to turn upside down your beliefs about life and death. It's written by a scientist and the man behind him, but also by his uncommon patient and a universal wisdom canalized through her (the masters). In my personal case, I should say I have believed in the Rosicrucian theory of reincarnation for quite a while now. When I read certain passages of the book it felt like I was listening to a friend of mine who's a higher-order rosicrucian. However, like Dr. Weiss himself admits, before meeting Catherine he had never read anything related to parapsychology or reincarnation. According to his words, his mind was too analytical and scientific to focus on something he considered to be open to speculation. Even having the proofs before his eyes, he still doubted his own senses for some time. I definitely recommend this book to anyone who seeks enlightment, spiritual peace or just wonders about whats beyond this world. Beware, narrow minds, this book will surely shock you. People interested in reincarnation-related studies, take a look at Dr. Ian Stevenson's work. And remember that the ultimate source of higher knowledge lies nowhere but within ourselves. God bless you all.

Good buy to share w/friends: Thoughts on Reincarnation

I had been reading this book and decided to share it with my friends. I chose to look for it on e-Bay for the bargains I find here. Found two copies and liked the price, the fact that I didn't have to go out looking for it in bookstores and that I would get it delivered by mail was appealing to me. My friends enjoyed their copy. I recommend this book to anyone intrested on the topic of reincarnation. I am a level headed person and broadminded enough to respect everyone's beliefs. I have my beliefs developed by myself and was not influenced by anyone, my own feelings gave me mine. Thanks for reading this.
added:Feb.10-'o7....
This book also gives us insight into the people we meet, the friends we have and the interesting people we come in contact with as well as the individuals we feel close to. We have known these individuals in past lives, that is why we feel connected to them. I am sort of picky as to whom I get close to because not everyone understands about this "sure" feeling I get on meeting new persons.
I have been regressed and felt comfortable with the outcome of that. This was 15 years ago but would like to do it again- now that I know more. I would recommed this to anyone interested in reincarnation and finding out about any issues they may have. Our lives are patterned from previous lives, this book re-assures this. Hope this helps at least 1 person or gets you to "wonder". Thank you for reading this:)

This is Dr. Weiss' first book and because it was so fascinating, I have read all of his books since.

Brian Weiss is a scholar and social scientist who discovered this phenomenon is his practice as a psychologist.

The true account is intriguing, the new information is exciting and the source is credible. I found it so interesting I didn't want to put it down and I shared it with four of my friends. I have also read similar books on the same subject subsequently which support his interpretation.

It's food for thought that doesn't taste like chicken; the flavor is distinct and a little hard to swallow at first considering it is so foreign.

I recommend this book as a primer for anyone with an open mind, sense for the curious and a brave spirit. This is Dr. Weiss' first book which I predict shall someday become a classic in the soon to become discipline.

Reincarnation: What Might Happen After Death?
Review created: 05/25/01
by: GlendaG -- a member of Epinions

Pros:
Presents evidence of past lives and life truths

Cons:
Can be no absolute proof

I bought this book by accident in a box of used cookbooks. When I discovered it I almost didn't read it because I thought it was just another Bridey-Murphy-type reincarnation book. It's far more than that. First off, so that the average reader won't think the author is a crackpot, his extensive and impressive credentials as a psychiatrist are described in the Preface. He received his medical degree from Yale and was Chief of Psychiatry at a university-affiliated hospital in Miami. Brian L. Weiss, M.D., writes of his psychotherapy sessions with a 27-year-old patient named Catherine, who...

  Peace at last?
Review created: 03/04/01
by: hhassell99 -- a member of Epinions

Pros:
Well-respected psychiatrists view of the afterlife through a patients hypnosis.

Cons:
There's one patient's experiences related - not enough for some people to agree with Weiss.

"...I first met her in 1980 when she was twenty-seven years old. She had come to my office seeking help for her anxiety, panic attacks, and phobias...Every day she found herself more emotionally paralyzed and less able to function. She was terrified and understandably depressed." ( from "Many Minds, Many Masters" page 9) When I read these first lines in the first chapter, I was hooked. Whether or not I gave credit to Weiss' experiences, the above description of Catherine, minus the date/age, could have been describing me. I have suffered from anxiety attacks all of my life, but more so since..

Pros:

None

Many Lives, Many Masters by Brian L. Weiss, MD. While under hypnosis Catherine regresses to former past lives. These past lives occur at various periods in history, dating back to Egypt. Recounting her surroundings convinces Dr. Weiss that she could not be making up these stories as she gives...

Pros:
well written, easy to read, informative

Cons:
none

I am always looking for books to expand on my knowledge of the spiritual side of life and find hope in times of despair and one of the books I choose to read was "Many Lives,Many Masters" and I found it to be highly enlighting and encouraging about problems that occur and their solutions. In the book Mr. Weiss describes how he had a patient that he was having lots of trouble helping as she had many fears and problems and no amount of probing had helped until she under went hypnosis and in these times he opened up to dealing with her other many lives and the good things and bad things that...

  Great experiences...
Review created: 01/08/00
by: ROSYJ -- a member of Epinions

Pros:
It's interesting and makes you think...

Cons:
You can't put it down..

This is a good book because of it's twist and turns. The book itself has a lot of compelling saga to it and it does not put the characters in any tough stop, What I mean by tough stop is it does not make you think there is no other solution and make you the reader give up and put the book down it also keeps you yearning for more. This is a good book to read in between your activities because it distracts your mind for a while and it makes you think a bit and forget your problems . I recommend this book because it's not a boring bargain!
