I bought this book due to the reviews I had read. I am planning on building my own guitar body but not the neck. That being said, I will first list what I thought was good. If you're planning on building a "Strat" body, or a neck, this books for you. This book is very detailed in neck building. It does have routing patterns for pickups and a "Strat" tremelo. It lists fretting tables for all scales. The electronics section is pretty good, but nothing you couldn't find at Seymour Duncans web site. Now the not so good. I hate "Strats". It's an overdone body style. I feel this book leans a little heavy on it. There is no information on how to install or set up a "Tune-O-Matic" style bridge. The "Tune-O-Matic" is like an opinion, everyones got one. The "Floyd Rose" style tremelo is probably used more now but no template is included. Not much is said about matching up the neck radius with the bridge radius. I know there are several radii used so I dont know if it matters or not, that's also why I bought the book. There is nothing really about laminating a body, only for a through body neck. In a nutshell, I found out just about everything I needed to know from the internet and getting dimensions from my sons PRS. Building a neck is a little bit more than I'm willing to try. There are too many that can be bought cheap off the internet and still be good quality. This book will still be good for a reference.
