Mad Max (2002, DVD)

While the Mad Max series is in need of a re-release, this 2002 DVD is the most current one of any of the three films. The commentary tracks (featuring directors, production crew and trivia experts) alone are well worth buying the special edition over the regular DVD version. They are entertaining, informative and answer a lot of the questions you've found yourself asking if you have seen this movie before. Also included are the original Australian audio as well as the hilarious U.S. dubbed audio. The other special features are somewhat negligible, but worth watching anyway. My favorite aspect of the film is the fact that all the stunts were performed by actual human beings, driving real vehicles. If you're tired of the overly CGI laden action movies of today, this should be a refreshing alternative. The action is only a bonus to the gripping story, though. Mad Max is the dramatic tale of the transformation of an ordinary man into a hardened survivor of a post-apocalyptic wasteland. If the Road Warrior or Beyond Thunderdome drew you into the series (as they did me) this is where it all starts. You'll learn the tragic origins of the man they call Max and find out why he's so mad at the world.

I remember seeing this movie when I was a kid and thought it was awesome. Mad Max is set in a post-apocalyptic Australia. The criminal element is ruthless but the law enforcement counters them with equal tactics. When Max runs afoul of a motorcycle gang, they kill his family. After a period of grieving, Max dons his police uniform and saddles up in one of the last of the V-8 Interceptor police cruisers. Max mercilessly hunts down the bikers one by one until the final showdown with the leader. Max gets his justice. Best viewed on a flat screen tv with a high end surround sound system. Mad Max promises plenty of action. Buy it, you won't be disappointed.

This movie is GREAT! I really like the young Mel Gibson portraying Max as he gets even with the renegade biker club that killed his family! The cars are cool,the characters are even better, and the subject is GREAT too!!!

Mad Max - You can tell they did not have much of a budget for this movie. It's still very good though. Good story. I still like the 'Road Warrior' the best of all the Mad Max movies. You must see the first one to appreciate the second one.

I like the movie because it takes me back to my past. When things were simpler. I like the Mad Max movies and I needed ideas for a costume for halloween. But I do enjoy the movie.

movies like this are hard to find and it is really good. movie so there for I loved it. I am a mel gisbson fan. This movie is considered a car movie and is listed in a magazine called hot rod with a lot of other car movies so any car buff would love this movie.

This is the only unedited version I could find. Not re-edited or dubbed, truly how it was meant to be seen. Any person who like independant films will like this action classic!

Classic Debut by Mel Gibson, this film is considered prophetic by some, dull and violent by others. There are moments where you do not want your children watching with you, as violence is the central theme around which the plot rotates.

Fuel is not much available after the Big One Atomic War, so they run around fighting over fuel. The conflict develops primitive style alliances around food and energy, and the teams struggle against each other for something that is never quite revealed. Oh yes, fuel, gasoline.

This is a cult classic which launched dirctor/actor Mel Gibson's career from his humble beginnings in Australia. Considered prophetic by some because it is a daily tragedy on our highways today, where we collide with each other in a struggle to provide. And it has some moments where hope is lost, in tune with the post-apocalyptic theme.

Needed a copy found it and got it it has the origanal sound track in AU voices the US copy was DUBBED !! theres a LOT more to hear here the AU people have a colorful way of speaking i visit there often so i can say it is the REAL DINKEM as they say shipping as fast thats about all i can say davel614

My husband and I love this movie we bought it because we had to have it. It is a classic we had been looking for it in the stores and could not find it here and so when we came across it here we jumped on it
