Considered by many, to be their favorite Macross series, Macross Plus offers a great story, good character development, and stunning animation that was ahead of its time; all in only a 4 part series. Because of its length (only 2 dvds) it is easy to collect. The spectacular music was also written and composed by Yoko Kanno. The first DVD showcases spectacular flying scenes and aerial dog fights. It also does a good job of introducing/developing the characters and laying the ground work for the storyline in the next volume. Though it was made in the 90's, it's still a great anime series for long time anime fans or people just getting into anime.
