LOST in TIMELESS CLASSIC

When the Beatles broke up in 1970 it marked the end of a generational historic mark of an era. During the 1970's Capitol Records at various times repackaged alot of the Beatles vintage music into some real interesting album collections. In 1977 the very best and by far the most classic of these collections was the BEATLES LOVE SONGS! Created too resemble a classic leather photo album on the cover with a golden embossed picture of the fab four too grace the leathery cover. THE most fascinating part of this album was the 25 page parchment paper lyrics booklet that came with the double album! The two albums came with classic Beatles tunes from Yesterday to sadly written Long and Winding Road! IT was apparent at the time Beatles fans were getting weary and tired of repackaged Beatles collections during the 1970's as Capitol Records kept trying too keep Beatlemania alive and well, but the proof was in the pudding when the Beatles Love Songs that charted October of 1977 in time for the Christmas rush, it did not sell well or chart well at all as Billboards Top 200 Albums indicated as it peeked at number 25 on the chart! The album was about too be pulled from the market and discontinued when the untimely death of John Lennon came on December 8,1980 and a great interest in the Beatles began to rise once again for a new generation of fans emerged and Beatles fans were trying to restock their collections! In early 1981 color vinal became a popular with record albums. The Beatles Love Songs album was packaged in a goldish vinal that did not sell well at all.
Now on Ebay, nearly 30 years later, that yellow vinal is well sought after and rare Beatles collectable. And for the RECORD, you are talking to a Beatles fan whose owned the Love Songs on 8 track tape ( first collection, hidden under my mattress for my birthday by my wonderful grandmother), then the album 10 occasions and 8 of those given to highschool girlfriends for Valentines Day presents, however disco, Peter Frampton, Bee Gees ect. won out their taste hearts because of the different musical generations so the album was just stuck in some closet and still remains there now perhaps. NOW I have been able to get the Beatles Love Songs on cd even though the album was discontinued in 1986 but still remained on cassette until 1989 then was discontinued forever. In the early 1990's compact disks replaced everything, the TRUE British versions of REAL vintage Beatles albums replaced the Capitol versions of the 1960's and the repackaged versions of the 1970's, these albums now have become much sought after Beatles collectors items.
I have gotten the Beatles Love Songs on cd off of Ebay from the European market and its as beautiful as when I first heard it those many years ago when it was released on 8 track when I listened to it late at night with the head phones. BUT if you do get a chance to get it on the album... GET IT! Having the parchment paper lyric booklet too sing along with the songs along with the cd and having the album for nostalgically purposes and for a keep sake really does bring that magic of BEATLEMANINA. BUT the songs: sharing all of them with someone very special in your life, also makes for a very romantic and special occasion!

Pros:
Uhm, let's say, Music?

Cons:
You don't like Music?

I was growing up to the sounds of music. My dad listened to everything from classic rock to heavy metal, so the tune of my childhood was Smoke On The Water by Deep Purple, occasionally interrupted by AC/DC. Music was always there but, seems to me now, I was not. One of the strongest memories of my childhood was Kylie Minogue s first video Locomotion, but due to the tragic events of her latest Can t Get You Out Of My Head , I feel like I have no right to torture myself through some sweet sugary pop of the early 80s. I have to admit I don t remember bunch of Madonna in my childhood, though my...

Pros:
All love songs on two albums

Cons:
This album isn't easily to be found

The Love Songs album from the Beatles is all of their love songs put together in a double album. I felt this was great when I received this gift from my father. It was two albums with the cover the color brown. It also contained all the words of the songs on old fashion looking paper. This was elegantly done. I loved this album very much. I don't have this one anymore I haven't seen it in stores in a very long time. If you love the Beatles and have countless cd's of them try to find this one it's worth your while.
