This movie is just as good (maybe even better) as the first Jurassic Park movie.

This one follows Ian Malcolm, who goes to the second island Site B, which was made as a back up plan in case the amusement park idea went badly. John Hammond, the man who created the park, wants experts to go on a trip to Site B to document the dinosaurs in their natural habitat. He learns that John Hammond has sent his girlfriend there, who is a paleontologist, and Ian feels that he needs to go rescue her. When he arrives they discover that a man with a huge team is hunting down some of the dinosaurs to return them back to the United States in a new zoo. But of course things go terribly wrong once again.

If you enjoyed the first Jurassic Park movie, then you'll love this one as well.

The Lost World : Jurassic Park 2 ---- With Jeff Goldblum and Julianne Moore

Pros:
decent film, exciting at many points, great special effects

Cons:
a little weak on plot, story isn't that strong

After the monster success of Jurassic Park, it was only a matter of time before a sequel was requested. Michael Crichton wrote up the book and the screenplay, and they convinced Steven Spielberg to come on again. This was exactly what they needed, because it also brought the star power which was a must for a sequel like this. Returning in his role as Ian Malcolm, Jeff Goldblum becomes the star of the picture, rather than a supporting character who barely survived the first film. Sam Neill is not back for this one, and neither is Laura Dern, but in supporting roles they were able to bring in...

The Lost World -- amazing effects, less than amazing sequel

Pros:
Great CGI dinos, good John Williams score, and at least it's fast-paced.

Cons:
Formulaic story, and the third act seemed forced.

Although Jurassic Park (in both novel and movie formats)was bound to spawn sequels just as Jaws did, it didn't have to fall into movie by the numbers territory, yet, surprisingly, The Lost World does just that. Even though screenwriter David Koepp, director Steven Spielberg, some cast members and all the techno-wizards are back for this 1997 sequel, one comes away from watching The Lost World - Jurassic Park wondering if Spielberg had his mind elsewhere...perhaps thinking about such projects as Amistad and Saving Private Ryan, or poring over script ideas for Indiana Jones IV. It's not an...

Not as bad as I first thought

Pros:
The special effects, the action, seeing the bad guys get chomped.

Cons:
The weak plot, absence of charm and wonder, weak acting.

This is a sequel to Jurassic Park, a movie I like very much. In that first movie, Dr. Alan Grant (Sam Neill) is a noted paleontologist, and Dr. Ellie Sattler (Laura Dern) is a paleobotanist. Scottish multi-millionaire John Hammond (Richard Attenborough) thinks he has designed the ultimate theme-park, but needs some experts to confirm its safety for the public. He talks Grant and Sattler into flying down to Isla Nublar, near Costa Rica, along with noted mathematician Dr. Ian Malcolm (Jeff Goldblum). Hammond bought Isla Nublar, built a genetic engineering laboratory there, and managed to clone..

Second verse - same as the first

Pros:
Impressive SFX, some intense moments.

Cons:
Wandering screenplay; many cliche moments; no sense of satire

They say when you've got a winning strategy don't change your game plan. Unfortunately, the one place it doesn't work is Hollywood, or else "The Lost World: Jurassic Park" might have been something original. Instead, it's just a repeat of everything Spielberg's done before and proves some things are only impressive once. The film opens in typical Spielberg fashion with a supposedly charming scene that also shows the advances made in special effects. Initially, it is interesting to watch, but within a few minutes we get a lot of screaming and off-screen bloodshed, and it's apparent the film is.

 Welcome back to Jurassic Park

Pros:
Special Effects

Dinosaur Action

Base Story

Cons:
Divergence from the novel

Ending

If you haven't seen the first Jurassic Park film, here's what you missed. Man creates dinosaurs from fossilized DNA. Dinosaurs get loose in zoo. Dinosaurs eat people. People barely escape dinosaur island. Thank God for Site B. Yes, there's a second island with dinosaurs on it. John Hammond (Richard Attenborough) has had a change of heart. Instead of pursuing capitalism, he's now a conservationist. When InGen is taken from him, John recruits a team of researchers to visit Isla Sorna (Site B) and document the existence of the dinosaurs. Doing this will pull public opinion in their favor and...
