I watched a friend play this game and got hooked just watching. The story is amazing! I've logged 40 hours of play time and am no where near finishing. It's on four disks for a reason. The cut scenes are beautiful! Only bad thing: you may have to play for 2 hours before hitting another save point. But i always play for at least that long.

February 6, 2008 - If the ESRB had any heart, it would put Japanese RPGs on the endangered species list. With Western action-oriented role-playing games such as Mass Effect, Fable, and Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion selling millions, some have questioned the validity of turn-based JRPGs. If one man can save the traditional RPG, it would be Hironobu Sakaguchi, father of Final Fantasy. Sakaguchi's fledgling development house, Mistwalker Studios, previously released Blue Dragon on 360 and returns with a stronger, more adult offering in Lost Odyssey.

This is a must have rpg for the 360. this is the second best console rpg for me, right beside FF7. I would look into guying a guide for the game as well to get everything you might miss along the way. anyways, simply put, this game rocks!

It will take you a long time no doubt, but it is one of the only Multi Disc 360 games, and to my knowledge the only multidisc RPG. I hope others can enjoy this unique master piece of a modern japanese RPG.

Lost Odyssey revolves around a small party of heroes that set out to save the world( kinda basic for alot of RPGs). This game reminded me alot of Final Fantasy VIII, from the way the skill linking works to the basic battle system. The story is not as involving as some of the RPGs but it is good, can't tell you to much or I will spoil the game for you :P. Graphic wise it looks good but at times gliches up and also a few times I had the music just cut out for no reason. Over all I would say anyone that likes RPGs would enjoy this game. 7/10

.A great set of colorful characters, especially Kaim.

Si los personajes de Final Fantasy crecieran ...creo que serian algo mas cercano a Lost Odyssey. Este juego marca el renacer de los originales creadores de la saga Final Fantasy en el terreno de las consolas de vanguardia. Y el resutlado es algo digno, de calidad... pero sin revolucionar.

Su gameplay es un clásico sistema de peleas por turnos y monstruos al azar que aparecen a medida que caminas por el mapa. A esto se le ha agregado un sistema de anillos que otorgan ataque especiales al golpe normal de cada personaje , haciendo la tarea de "atacar" algo mas controlada y menos automática.

El personaje principal es un inmortal - que muere si le matan :P- que busca huellas de su pasado a medida que cumple las órdenes de un gobierno al cual le es fiel debido a su naturaleza guerrera. A lo largo del juego contemplarás "Novelas", historias escritas que -si eres un buen lector- te tomarán de sorpresa ya que estan muy bien desarrolladas para crear atmósfera y contenido con una música maravillosa.

Si eres un rpg gamer de antaño te encantará, si eres un nuevo jugador puede que te cueste un poco acostumbrarte al sistema de leveleo sacrificado antes de lograr derrotar a un jefe... dicho sea, no es fácil pero tampoco una tortura. Recomendable, pero sin ser nada revolucionario.

There has been nothing but pure FUN playing this game. So far I'm through the second disc and the game has a beautiful story blended with interesting characters and stunning graphics. The Xbox 360 has been lacking RPG-based games and this is game fills in that hole. There is nothing really bad I can say about Lost Odyssey since it's really that GOOD! A must buy for those who love playing RPGs. It's a good time to put the first-person shooters aside and playing something different.

A Consol RPG that spans 4 discs and approximately 80 hours of gameplay is worth a purchase (more then an hour of gameplay per dollar).

Although you play an Immortal that can die... and you get an achievement for reading stories that are not only predictible, but also have no tie-in with the world you explore... and the fact that the only way I could play with the sound on was in the japansese voice acting... this was a fairly good game.

Sure I have my gripes, but it's the type of last gen RPG that falls right in with FF10, yet adds so much more to explore and experience. The indepth storyline is interesting, however, the story didn't really present itself until the second disc. In the meantime, you are left to play the game without a clue of what's going on. I do think that might have been the intended result, so I can't mark that against the game.

All in all, this game offers those of us who still want to play a classic JRPG without being pulled into the stupidity that is Enchanted Arms... For new players to the genre it offers new features and reintroduces the RPG in all its glory.

the xbox 360 needs more amazing quality RPG's like this. the best true RPG for the system yet - by far!

Nothing the game is horrid and lacks any originality. It may be me but this was a waste of my time and effort. I expected more for a game in this day and time.

this game just sucks you in, the story is great, the game play is great, best rpg ever..... (for now)

This is a turn based game that reminds me of the older D&D computer games I once played. I expect to get quite a few hours of enjoyment out of this set of discs.

Seriously this is the best traditional RPG to come out in years. Created by the guy who created Final Fantasy, scored by Nobuo Uematsu and breath-taking visuals. Kaim Argonar is such a hero you can root for, you may forget about a guy named Cloud. Jansen Friedh is one of the coolest characters ever in an RPG, seriously. Story is remarkable, highly recommend to any RPG fan.

Couldn't wait to dive into this, so far, it's beyond even my expectations. The cinematics are jaw-droppings, and eye-popping, the control is simple, and easy to master. I've waited a long time for a game like this to come out on the xbox; If you liked the final fantasy series, and are the owner of an xbox, this is definitely the game for you.

The game is extremely old-school, from the challenge level to the combat system, meaning that it’s not for everyone. Also, the game has some pacing issues, with substantial load times breaking up the game. However, the ring system is well done, and the story elements will keep your interest.

Graphics: 8.5
The Unreal Engine 3 is used quite nicely here, letting the world be fully realized in tremendous detail. The only downfall is the spotty framerate.

Sound: 9.0
Although there are a couple hammy voice actors in the bunch, most of them sound great and the score is excellent.

Difficulty: Hard

Concept: 8.5
While the gameplay is perhaps a little too traditional and old-school for most mainstream gamers, the story and art design are tops.

Lost Odyssey is as old-school as Mistwalker’s previous Xbox 360 effort, albeit a lot more difficult and requires a lot more level grinding. Plus, the pacing issues will undoubtedly frustrate gamers wanting to keep the game moving. Still, there is a lot to love in Lost Odyssey, thanks to the top-rate production values and story.

I heard great things about the game and I was getting bored with playing world of warcraft. So I wanted to get back into standard role playing games until Final Fantasy 13 came out. This is a good game. Excellent graphics and the game play is good also.

i liked the story and gameplay. Solid rpg. i though the load times were gonna be annoying.... BUT IT DOEST TAKE THAT LONG TO LOAD. i Still enjoy the game. its a must have for rpg fans.

This game is so wonderful. The story itself is great. It's a turn based RPG which you don't see too many of lately. The music is beautiful and moving.
It is well worth every penny I paid for it.

The two games Mistwalker have produced so far have been JPRG gold in my opinion. If you like turn based, immersing RPGs then this the game for you. Blue Dragon was a return for the RPGs of old, and Lost Odyssey is much better. You know that if an RPG have more than the boring old single disc it will be full of highly detailed cut scenes like for example my favourite Final Fantasy - IX. Lost Odyssey does have slightly long loading times but I don't think it stops your immersion in any way. Its still got the best RPG story in years, according to the GS official review thats because its a copy of old JPRG storylines. I don't think that stops it from being fantastic and the best JPRG in years, and longest game this year with around 50 hours of gameplay. Buy this game and you won't be disappointed. So far I'm on disc 1 of 4 and played 16 hours.

What a game, it's everything an RPG should be and more, It has a killer story line/plot. And things get better and better. Fantasic fighting system ,weapond system, just fantastic all around. This game will defitnately win some gaming awards!
