We are very fortunate that this album exists! Thanks to Eric Clapton, the live show captures George in a moment in time that spans years of creativity and talent! George was and is a treasure to behold! We really didn't realize what we had with us for such a moment as this! I would love to hear more! This album keeps up with the times and causes us to look back with love and appreciation for a person who saw the sun and the moon and combined love and music to keep us all seeking truth! Hari bol!
I probably enjoy this more due to my love for the Beatles and hearing it after Harrison's demise, makes me appreciate his melodic guitar even more. No fancy pyrotechnics here: that was not his style. He always had a melodic and lyrical style to his lead work. I never thought he had that great a singing voice, a little thin for my tastes, but no one sounds right singing his songs. I suppose it's like Neil Young's voice--not great, but only Neil sounds right singing his songs.
Harrison's certainly a forgiving sort-of-guy. Clapton steals his lady, but George still asks him to play that wonderful, sad guitar on "While My Guitar Gently Weeps." This 2-disc set includes a live version of that very song, and Clapton's there to recreate the magic. The rest of the show though is all Harrison.
