Lilly s Purple Plastic Purse is another wonderful book by Kevin Henkes. Like his other books it is wonderfully written and beautifully illustrated. It is a joy to read and it is, lucky for me, one of my daughter s favorite books. This book is about a little mouse girl named Lilly. Lilly loves school. I am so impressed by this book that I've given it as a gift to other people's children, as well as my own. I think it's a must-read for preschoolers and their parents, because it teaches lessons like how to deal with disappointment, anger, and sadness, and it does it in a humorous, non-threatening way. This book is about a little mouse called Lilly who wants to show off her new purple plastic purse. She gets in trouble at school because she took out her purse to show everyone before she was supposed to. After her teacher takes it away she gets mad and draws an angry picture and leaves it for him.
