I love this album. It almost seems like a farewell album for the Beatles. A lot of talk about always having positive feelings, and being apart. I own all the Beatles albums, and this is definitely one of my favorites. Especially good with age. Love it!

 Beatles Album

Grew up with this album. Bought it on vinyl first as an LP album. Then made my own 8 track copy. Next came cassette, now on CD. This is the real Let It Be, not the "New" naked version. I always thought of this as the last Beatles album. The apple on my LP was Red, not Green. Like the band had become ripe. It has the "album versions" of Get Back and Let It Be, which are just a little different than he singles versions, but enough different that a fan or avid listener will notice. Yeah I like it. "On behalf of the group and myself I hope we passed the audition."

My older sister had the vinyl, YEARS ago, and I think it's probably my favorite Beatles album. Great all the way though.

What can you say. It's the Beatles man!!! One of the last albums they made (next to last) The problems within the band were beginning to show. Yoko Ono was causing problems in the studio and Paul was still insisting on a management change. He wanted to get rid of Kline.
But a great record

 Beatles music
Review created: 02/08/07

A few years ago my record collection was ruined in a flood. By going on ebay I can replace those records for a fraction of what it costs to buy them at a record store. I feel like I am putting my life back together, finally, by replacing the music that was lost to me.

Item was exactly as described and well-priced. Seller shipped item quickly and it arrived in plenty of time for Christmas (it was a gift). An all around pleasant purchase.

Thanks!

 Great CD

One of the best Beatles albums recorded. I enjoy almost every song on this cd. I'd rank it up there with The White Album and Abbey Road.

"Words are flowing out like endless rain into a paper cup"

Pros:
Some songs are still great despite Spector's meddling

Cons:
Spector's production, "Dig It," "Maggie Mae"

In 1969, the Beatles began work on a new project, tentatively titled Get Back. The plan was to both film and record the Beatles in the studio as they worked on a new album and finally performed in concert, which would show them "getting back" to their origins. Unfortunately, by this time, the group was falling apart, with the four members all wanting to do their own thing. There was a lot of fighting amongst the members, and finally the Get Back idea was scrapped. Instead, the movie was renamed Let It Be and closed with an impromptu performance on the rooftop of the Beatles' Apple Studios....

So long, George Martin; Hello (ugh) Phil Spector
Review created: 08/17/00

Pros:
It's the Beatles, about five really fine tracks, good concept

Cons:
Phil Spector, George Martin's absence

Let It Be, released on May 8, 1970, is somewhat of a Beatles anomaly. The project had an original working title of Get Back, and was planned as a sort of film and record documentary of their work in the studio, and musically they hoped to capture the essence of their early musical influences. During the period of time that the group was recording for this album, the legal and personality problems between the members were beginning to surface, so it's not surprising that the original idea got a little sidetracked. Somehow, Phil Spector was brought in to produce the album. I've never made any...

Don't Be Hatin'!: In defense of Let It Be
Review created: 11/29/04

Pros:
Almost all of the songs are good. Seriously.

Cons:
Production is a little over the top, and some obvious filler.

People are cruel to Let It Be. I don't really understand it, to be honest with you. I have heard Let It Be called the worst album of the Beatles career, and even once that it was the worst album of the era. Needless to say, it doesn't have much of a reputation. People who are hard on Let It Be obviously don't understand what this album actually is. Phil Spector and Paul McCartney both grabbed an udder on the cash cow, to put it simply. This wasn't even intended to ever actually exist. But it does. Here's the story, for those who don't know. In 1969, the Beatles (mostly Paul) got this...

 Disorganized Chaos.
Review created: 09/05/02
by: jeff_wilder78 -- a member of Epinions

Pros:
A few Beatles classics.

Cons:
A few throwaways too, the Spector production needs to go.

As I was composing my entry for the Music Mayhem write-off earlier I found myself reflecting that it's a sad thing seeing good bands flame out. Examples of this are too numerous to name, yet one that will doubtlessly be remembered until the end of time is the falling out that killed The Beatles as a recording unit. That falling out is captured on the Let It Be album, which was their last album released although not their final album, that honor belongs to Abbey Road. The original intent of the Let It Be album was to serve as a soundtrack to a documentary film showcasing The Beatles live in...

THE BEATLES wrapped around their egos
Review created: 08/19/06
by: silktempest -- a member of Epinions

Pros:
The greatest Rock N'Roll swindle

Cons:
Paul McCartney disagrees

It is quite hard to find a better fitting title for a record other than Let It Be - the "it" being THE BEATLES shambolic split-up circa 1969. Putting aside fanaticism, this is simply the sound of a band brought to its smithereens, going for the last effort, and doing horribly wrong. Hope succumbs and it's buried underneath all the bickering and envy running rampant. The achievements are on individual level, when they rear their head. Only Paul McCartney is engaged in assembling a decent album out of chaotic, by-the-books doom-laden jams aimed at recalling the wilderness of THE BEATLES from...
