Pros:
Hopkins & Pitt with a little Ormond on the side
Cons:
some parts drag but overall fairly good
The Oracle says: Julia Ormond has a Bacon number of 2. Julia Ormond was in Nostradamus (1994/I) with Amanda Plummer Amanda Plummer was in Elizabeth Jane (1998) with Kevin Bacon *** ~~~~The plot~~~~ Surrounded by those he loves, ex-cavalry officer Colonel Ludlow (Anthony Hopkins), has retired to relative seclusion in the Montana wilderness. With three exuberant sons, he and his wife carve a peaceful life, but she soon finds that the wilderness is not her cup of tea. As was her custom, she leaves for the winter to go to the big city , but this time she does not return, leaving Ludlow to raise...

Pros:
Legendary
Cons:
None
Scre* em - Scre* em !!! ... only Anthony Hopkins could pull this one off in a way that leaves viewers laughing at a elderly man who s been crippled by a stroke but is no less determined to rebel against a government he once worked for than he might have been if he were still in his youth. In this particular role, Hopkin s startling blue eyes reminded me so much of my deceased grandfather that I felt particularly fond of the old gent. Another reminder of my grandfather was the fact that Hopkins family is running moonshine. This same grandfather who s eyes were, too, so startlingly blue, earned.

A big screen soap opera
Review created: 08/03/04
by: agentunderfire -- a member of Epinions
Pros:
Scenery, James Horner's score, Anthony Hopkins.
Cons:
It's a soap opera.
A tragic hero with long blond hair. Love, jealousy, revenge, suicide, illness, marriage, murder. Is it a daytime soap opera? Nope! It's Legends of the Fall a movie about a early 20th century Montana family. Brad Pitt stars as Tristan Ludlow, the long blond wild young protagonist of the story. Legends follows the Ludlow family from 1917-1977. Tristan is the middle of 3 brothers, the elder being Alfred (Aidan Quinn) and the younger being Samuel (Henry Thomas). Their father, the Col. William Ludlow, is portrayed by Anthony Hopkins. All is well with the Ludlow boys until Samuel brings home a...

One I Almost Didn't Give a Chance Legends of the Fall
Review created: 11/03/07
by: wychic -- a member of Epinions
Pros:
great plot and acting
Cons:
may be too depressing for some, had some nudity, language, and violence
This is essentially the story of three brothers who go away to war and only two come back to their secluded home and the woman the third was to marry. When Susannah Fincannon (Julia Ormond) accompanied her fiance to his home in the mountains of Montana where they were to be married and live with his father (Anthony Hopkins) and brothers Tristan (Brad Pitt) and Alfred (Aidan Quinn) she probably never expected that it would tear her life apart. World War I called her fiance (Henry Thomas) away before they could be married, and he never came back. Upon their return both remaining brothers make...
