I have always been a fan of action and platforming games, and very few captivate me like this one does. Good story, memorable moments, and some extremely challenging puzzles make for one of the best action/platform games I have ever payed.
i still haven't beaten this game, so maybe i shouldn't be writing this revue, but whatever. this game is as squirmywurmy said, HUGE! i can't tell you how many times i've gotten lost (would it be so much to ask for a map?!) the premise of this game is great: it's been a millenia (give or take?) since kain conquered the earth, and his children all have their own territories. you play as raziel, who had the audacity.. the UNMETIGATED GALL! to receive the gift of wings before kain. so you got them suckers RIPPED OFF, and you're thrown into the lake of whatchamacallit. then the ancient one resurrects you, as his SOUL REAVER. you eat souls for BREAKFAST. souls in the mornin' souls in the evenin' souls at suppertime.. when souls are on a bagel you can eat souuuls anytime! sorry.. i couldn't help myself.. anywho, you run around killing vampires and sucking their souls, figuring out puzzles, gaining new powers for your soul reaver (fire, ...other stuff?) and you can choose to either help or mutilate the humans. you can also 'sip' on their souls to slightly refill your life. lots of weapons to use, tons of areas to explore.. but this sequel pales in comparison to blood omen (in my opinion). buuuut, that game was a classic.. it's not a very realistic expectation to hope to surpass that game. still, this game is a semi-classic, totally worth picking up it'll give you hours upon hours of bloody satisfaction! (and headaches)
