This film stars the Japanese rock music idol, Hyde and the soundtrack is great. But even if you've never heard of him, Last Quarter has a lot more to offer. It's essentially a paranormal love story mixed with themes of lost love, reincarnation and ghosts. The story plays out in two time lines: present day Tokyo and in the limbo world of the afterlife. The mood is ethereal and strangely beautiful with imaginative sets and amazing costumes. High production value and dreamy CGI effects means they put some major bucks into this film and it shows. Hyde doesn't quite have the screen persona of other musician-actors like Sting or David Bowie, but he's totally watchable. The music is a definite bonus, but everything about Last Quarter is destined to make this movie a cult classic.
