A book will tell the truth about the twin towers. It falls close to my heart because iam a vol firefighter my father was a firefighter for 27 1/2 years. It is a book to read.
READ THIS BOOK -- YOU'LL NOT BE ABLE TO PUT IT DOWN !!
This is truly one of the best books I've ever read. Given to me by a friend, I read it, re-read it, then loaned it to my 16-yr old son, who also could not put it down -- numerous friends have told me the same thing.
Fasciniating story of New York Fire Captain Richard Picciotto who volunteered to go into the second of the Twin Towers to collapse on September 11 and refused to leave until he was sure that everyone was safely being evacuated. He scaled the stairs up and meticulously combed each floor until he was sure he had accounted for every possible person except those he'd already ordered to descend the stairwells below. Thus, he was the man at the end of this group, shepherding people below him out, when the second tower collapsed so, thus, was LITERALLY The LAST MAN DOWN!
Fascinating and uplifting story, sharing insights into the people he encountered while evacuating the building -- how he saw the VERY best and a bit of the worst of humanity in the process.
THIS BOOK WILL NEVER LEAVE MY LIBRARY -- A definite A+. Read it and you'll want it as a keeper in your library too. HIGHEST RECOMMENDATION !!!
