Pros:
This is a great, even better, remake of a great original.
Cons:
Language, plus useless first word of the title. (Hey, I'm grabbing at straws here.)
If there is a film (or book) title that begins with "The" and that can't be improved by removing the word, it's rare. Now that we have my negative criticism out of the way, we can concentrate on this film's positive qualities, which are numerous and manifold. As you no doubt know, this is a remake of the 1955 classic, starring Alec Guinness, Herbert Lom, Peter Sellars (a very early appearance), and others. For starters, I urge (urge, urge) you to see the Guinness film before you see the new version not in order to make invidious comparisons, but in order to appreciate what an amazing...
