LG VX-8500 Chocolate (Verizon Wireless)

The phone itself is unbelievable. I had been looking at them for awhile and since my (new every 2 years) deal on my contract isn't until March, 2007, I couldn't wait to get one. The phone features Bluetooth capability (which works great!), access to all of Verizon features, it is a full, complete MP3 player which allows you to download music from VCAST or upload your own music from your computer. It does not come with an SD Microdisk, but I have found that you can get them quite cheaply and you can store all of your music on the card. The screen and camera quality are absolutely awesome!! The video quality of your recordings is also quite impressive. This is a great phone all-around and I would recommend it to any one that uses Verizon as their cell provider. The only thing you have to get used to is the fact that it is a "slider", not a flip open phone.

I'm going to add a paragraph here, not to slam the person that I bought the phone from, but to relate to my experience. I do no make bids on items that are not from sellers that have less than 150 positive feedback any more. If the seller says "BNIB-Brand New In Box", DO NOT hesitate to contact them about it. The best thing that I have learned from this experience is to not be afraid about contacting a seller. Just make sure that you are happy with the seller's response before making a bid. The phone that I received that was supposedly "BNIB" was scratched and damaged and ultimately, when I tried to have it activated on my account with Verizon, was told that the phone had been reported as stolen and they took the phone from me. That is the reason that I only bid with "established sellers".

I really like the Chocolate by LG, it is everything that I want in a phone. It is great as mp3 player and you can even take a phone call when using it as a mp3 player. I really like the touch buttons although they can get smudged fairly easily. Overall, I recommend this phone to anyone who likes a phone that can also play music and have touch buttons capabilty.

I dont like this product because the battery doesn't work good, the seller doesn't shipp the product at the time He said, I have bad luck with this phone.

The charger plug in the phone was broke, and although it was AS-is, i still got to send it back and he fixed it and sent it back. The phone would not activate over the computer so when I took it in to the store to have it activated they could not get it to work and the store exchange the phone. But this is a really great person to help with everything. I would like to say thank You!

I loved the color of the phone because it is unique. There are many black and white ones but not many pink ones. We have looked all over ebay for something like this and were so excited to find this one. We got a super great deal on it and my 11 year old daughter was so excited!

LG are bottom end manufacturers of home electronics.remember goldstar,then you get my point.don't think i'd buy electronics from a company that puts a lcd screen on a refrigerator let alone a cellphone.

I love this phone!, It is so easy to use, slides shut so no accidental calls, has so many features and fits in my pocket so discretely. Camara is not great but does okay when you need it to. So versatile, I use it for a calculator, my alarm and my phone!! Had a palm treo and after spending all the money, hated it. This little phone has great price and quality. Would buy again.

my daughter bought the phone with her own money that she worked hard for. She just loves the phone but about a week ago the screen went blank and now there is only a white screen. The phone was scratched up when we bought it, but the add said it had scratches and we were willing to deal with the scratches.. This is our first ebay purchase and I feel that my daughter was NOT given a fair deal. Now she does not have a phone. I don't know what to do. I need her to have a phone for emergencies

My daughter loved the phone because it was pink. A Strawberry Chocolate! She was completelty bored with her old phone and really wanted a new one.

We are just so upset that the phone only worked for maybe a week and a half. My daughter is 16 and she is completely devistated that the phone she paid over $100 for out of her saved up money does not work

the seller stated product was ready for activation. went to carrier, found out cell phone esn bad, stolen cell phone. contact seller after 24 hours which only 3 money back warranty....i had to pay to ship phone back and now it has been 3 weeks and no exchange or refund processed.....this should be told to everyone about the cell phones from this seller.. morecellsphones....

Received product promptly. Product worked for 21 days and now will not power on. It was also extremely difficult to add music onto the phone bc it requires the combination of windows media player 10 and windows xp to connect to the phone.

I've always wanted a Chocolate phone since my friend got one a while back. When the ocean ate my phone on a recent trip, I decided to get myself the white Chocolate. It came and I felt so slick when I slid it open. Several of my friends commented on my phone and always wanted to look at it. They even liked it after they examined it closer. However, this phone got real old in a matter of hours. It's slick as hell, but it is a terrible cellular phone. The sound is weak; whether it's the ring, the speakerphone, the voice on the other end of the line or even yours (I had to repeat myself several times during conversations). But the phone's major flaw is it's user interface. The lower half of the phone (which is the number key) are normal buttons, nothing special (unless you hate tiny buttons....). But the upper half of the phone (which is the navigation key) is that pressure-sensitive touch-screen gig. Firstly, these pressure-sensitive touchkeys are always slower than normal buttons because it requires more ram to operate them; in other words, there is a considerable lag between the second you glaze your finger over the 'Messages' button and the second you arrive at 'Messages.' It also makes transitioning from the pressure-sensitive touchkeys to the normal number buttons. Another problem with the top half comes when you try to talk on the phone and your ear starts rubbing against the top half of the phone, making it beep irritatingly as it guides you thru a menu you didn't want to open because you're trying to hear the voice on the other end of this stupid phone. Instead of placing the 'Call Send' and 'Call End' buttons in the traditional location, the Chocolate has the 'Call Send' button on the left-hand side of the face, while the 'Call End' button is located on the right SIDE of the phone (not the right-hand side of the face, but the actual right SIDE of the phone). In its place is the 'Clear' button. Texting is a pain as well because the buttons are so small. It also comes with almost no ringtones. The camera is not great and located between the two plates of the phone, only exposed when the Chocolate is slid open, making it prone to heavy scratching if anything becomes caught between the two plates. All in all, this phone may look cool, but it is impractical and even difficult to use. I am selling the Chocolate now because I replaced it with the LG VX8700 (an infinitely better phone). For some reason, LG really dropped the ball with this phone. It is all form at the great expense of function.

the phone is very skeel and great because you can fit it in your pocket. good camera.. the shell DOES scratch easy though.. and the touch screen is VERY sensitive.. sound quality not so good for recording videos. but other that that.. the speaker is loud and clear.. no problems yet!

The LG 8500 is a stylish phone with all the features most people could possibly want or use. I don't like flip phones. They always feel cheaply made, except the razr which has too little internal memory and takes forever to open/close an app or react to an input command. The numeric keypad may be a bit smaill, but it isn't a major problem. I have had reliability problems, but when it works correctly it is an excellent phone.

I was really impressed and i'm really rough on phones and it's still standing the only thing that sucks about it is the touch buttons but i think thats just because its hard to get use to but over all i'm glad i got a cell phone from here for cheap thanks
