LG AX5000 (ALLTEL Wireless)

LG's new phone includes a red hot clamshell design. This phone is directed towards the "less-demanding cell phone users. This phone doesnt have a megapixel camera, expensive multimedia options, and bBluetooth, This phone is simple, functional model that tries to be as uncomplicated as possible. Yes it does have a VGA camera with flash and 5x zoom, video capture and playback, 32MB memory, voice commands and dialing, Tet and multimedia messaging, polyphonic ring toes, basic PIM functions, WAP 2.0 wireless web broweser, 85,000 color internal display, and a monochrome external display.

All in all the phone looks pretty sound, the hinges seem sturdy, the phone seems durable. But it lacks in the accessory department for the geeks. If you are not a geek and don't requre all the nice little gadgets like bluetooth, transflash removeable media, then this phone will suit you well.

I love everything about the item, the price, the phone, and the packaging and the on time retrievement of this item.

The phone is a nice phone and has almost all the features I wanted but the speaker for the ring tones is terrible. It sounds very muffled kinda like you are hearing it ring through a tube. I also would have liked a phone with Bluetooth.

we love this cell phone we've had these in the past and present and was really glad to find it. we could keep our same # and plan as my wifes plan my old one did not like lake Michigan (O"NO) so that is why we needed to buy another. and if this would happen again which it has I'd buy the same phone again.

I really enjoyed bidding on this phone, because for one I was the only bidder so I was pretty much guaranteed the phone. So the price was great, and the shipping was average. The shipping was fast and I was able to hook up the phone with no problems at all. The phone looked brand new, although, it was noted that it was refurbished. But to me and others it looked brand new, it even had the plastic coverings that new phones come with on the front cover. I would highly recommend this seller to anybody looking for a new phone, this not only saved me money from having to purchase a new cell phone at full price, but saved me the time with having to go out to a Alltel store. I hate to say it but I was disappointed in the product. After receiving the phone I took it to the Alltel store and it could not be activated. They also said the battery was not original. I returned the phone to the seller and am awaiting a refund.

I bought this used on Ebay because it seemed to be honestly described and was the color I wanted. I picked this model because of user reviews on various evaluation sites that suggested it had outstanding reception capabilities. I have used it for about two weeks and must say it has impressive signal strength. Some of the features are a little cumbersome to use but everything works and I no longer get dropped calls where I used to with my Motorola T720.

THIS IS THE THIRD ONE WE HAVE HAD. OUR HOME WAS FLOODED AND WE LOST TWO OF THEM AND ARE REALLY HAPPY TO BE ABLE TO GET THE SAME PHONE BACK. THIS LITTLE PHONE HAS SOME REALLY GREAT FEATURES THAT ARE EAST TO USE, EVEN FOR THIS OLD MOTHER OF THREE!!! I HIGHLY RECCOMEND IT.

I would like others who want to purchase electronics anywhere to be very careful about these purchases. My experience was not good. After i got the phone i found out that i couldn't activate it because it had a negative esn. Please call your provider before you purchase a used cell phone to be sure the phone can be activated. The seller was ok. Even though the description said no refunds he credited $10.00 back into my paypal account that says a little about his character. But i would still like people to be very careful when bidding on these types of things.

Cheap camera, but so what. This LG entry-level phone is economical. Works great as a phone. Use it with an extended battery and an extended battery back door, I'm good to go for days at a time. No service contract obligations. I am content.

PHONE, ALTHOUGH USED, WAS VERY GOOD DEAL! NEEDED A REPLACEMENT PHONE BUT DIDN'T WANNA PAY FULL PRICE AT STORE OR GO BACK UNDER CONTRACT, SO CHECKED EBAY. FOUND JUST WHAT I WAS LOOKING FOR AT A VERY REASONABLE PRICE. THANKS, EBAY!

CONS: This phone was absolutely horrible in appearance. I did not want to use it at all. I used it for several days until I purchased another phone. This time I purchased a new product as i was skeptical about purchasing another "USED" product. The seller's interpretation of "some scratches" was obviously not the same as my interpretation. Also, the batter would not only hold a charge for 1/2 the day.

PROS: The phone was well packed and shipped to me in a timely manner.

Good solid phone, not many bells or whistles, but for a young teen this is a dependable, sturdy phone.

I have had this LG AX5000 now for over a year and have not had any problems with it. It is very user friendly and has a variety of ringtones, camera, video,external caller id, text messaging, calendar,calculator,tip calculator, and alarm clock. It has a speakerphone too and it is very small. You can change the faceplates on it and it withstands being dropped with no damage, very durable UNLIKE my RAZR which only lasted 4 months before it quit working. If you don't want to spend alot of $ and want a reliable small phone with many features, get this one.

I never even bid on the LG phone. I accidently bid on a RAZR phone that was not compatable with Alltel. I accidently paid for the RAZR phone thinking it was another phone I had won. Even though I was out bid the RAZR phone was on my pay list because of a second chance. As soon as I e-mailed the seller about the problem the RAZR phone just disappeared and the LG phone took it's place. The seller never responsed to any e-mails until I filed a dispute with paypal. Refused to work with me at all, and insisted that I had bid on the LG phone and won it, and would only take it back with a 15% restocking fee. I finally had to file a claim with Paypal to get it fixed. The very funny thing is when I sent the phone back to Celluar the lady at UPS told me to hold on to my receipt beck Celluar is notorious for claiming they never get these phones back. It seems to be a very bad seller that I will never again use. Base on the number of neg comments I would receommend the seller be removed from e-bay. Thanks for asking my opinion.

I received the cellphone promptly. The problem is that this cellphone is not compatible with Alltel. The people in the Alltel store tried to help me, but it didn't matter, this phone always roamed from Sprint towers. I had to send the phone back and I'm still waiting for my refund. I do not recommend to buy this phone specially if you already have Alltel service.

I purchased this used phone because mine tore up before my contract was due for me to get a new one. The screen would not stay lit where you could read it.
I wrote the seller and she said she had pictures with the screen lit,(probably not coincidental)! If I would return it she would check it out. I asked for her address so I could return it and she neve sent it. It was not usable but for very few times. It would ring & you could answer it to begin with, but you could not read text or numbers on screen. I was very disappointed with this purchase and it was not at a give away price!

This phone was a good purchase for me.It has all features I wanted,seems to be very durable,and has worked perfectly since activated.I bought this phone because it was compatible with my carrier, because it had a speaker phone,and a camera. I am a little disappointed, though I am unable to use this phone with my computer the way i wanted to because of unavailability of software.I got a data cable and bitpim software disc,but the bitpim does not support this model yet.I am unable to manage anything on my phone using the computer,and I have no way to download pictures I have taken. If I was to look for a phone again,I would check on the supportability of the phone by software companies.

This is a very user friendly phone. Its ease of use is excellant. Not alot of bells and whistles but the reception is great, and clarity is the same. I have purchased two of them, one as a backup, and will use this phone for a couple of years to come. It even doubles as a nice flashlight when you turn on the camera. The phones flash stays on rather than flashes when you click the capture key. I only wish it were blue tooth capable. Other than that the phone rates very high on my list and believe me I have shopped. Its light weight and compact and built well. Been dropped many times ans still keeps on tickin.

Takes horrible pictures! I got mine a year and half ago and can't wait til it's time to upgrade! Not so many dropped calls though, I thought that had more to do with your service provider, not the phone though.

This is a great cell phone with many diffent capabilities. They only thing that would make this cell phone better would be if it were blue tooth capabile.
