Konica Minolta DiMAGE G500 5.0 Megapixel

This camera I feel is one of the best out there. This model was made wile the digital camera companies still had quality on their minds instead of just profits. This camera was built to last unlike today’s cameras which are designed to have problems in a short amount of time so that you have to buy a new one. This camera keeps bringing me back because it has digital and optical zoom which is a plus now and days and a re-chargeable battery so you wont need to waste a fortune on buying expensive AA camera batteries that only last half as long.

This is a 5 meg with 3x zoom and takes great macro, wide and zoom photos...also accepts a scan disk or disk...it has a lithium battery so if you have an extra, there is always one ready to use--no need to run around looking for AAA batteries...it's small size is very convenient to carry in your pockets...great little camera for the price I paid. Great for takeing pictures for E-bay.

Two cameras were ordered, but one camera ws received. Communication with the vendor did not resolve the issue. The claim was elevated on ar about 03/18/07 has not yet had any resolution. This has not been a good experience so far.

Small, great features, and easy to use! With the reduced price it is a bargain! We used this camera for many surveillance assignments and were always been pleased with the results. With digital zoom/focusing, and easy transfer of photos to your computer, you can't go wrong with this one!

OUT OF ALL MY FAMILY AND FRIENDS CAMERAS, SOME OF THEM QUITE A BIT MORE EXPENSIVE THAN MINE- MY MINOLTA GETS BY FAR THE BEST QUALITY PICTURES OF ANY DIGITAL CAMERA UNDER $1000 THAT I HAVE SEEN (EVEN ONES WITH HIGHER MEGAPIXELS), I JUST BOUGHT ANOTHER ON EBAY FOR MY MOTHER IN LAW AND AM TRYING TO FIND ONE IN FAIRLY NEW CONDITION FOR MY DAUGHTER FOR HER BIRTHDAY- I CAN TAKE A PICTURE OF A WILDFLOWER WHILE I AM RIDING ON A FOUR WHEELER AND IT WILL FIND A STEADY SHOT AND IT LOOKS LIKE A PROFESSIONAL CALENDER SHOT (I HAVE BLOWN UP AND FRAMED SOME OF THESE)I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS CAMERA (AND BY THE WAY, IT IS EASY TO USE FOR BASIC USE- I NEVER READ MANUALS- I HAVE HAD MINE FOR 3YEARS AND NEVER READ IT)

The Minolta DiMAGE is wonderfully compact and easy to carry. I purchased the camera so that I could begin to learn how to take digital pictures. The DiMage does not come with a complete print owner's manual only a cd instruction guide. A print manual would be more convenient especially for a beginner who needs help understanding all the various setting, etc that this camera can accomodate. I understand that this camera is no longer being manufactured and was initially concerned that I would not be able to find additional accessories for it. I soon discovered that options abound via e-Bay and was able to purchase an additional battery from a company overseas. The cost was surprisingly reasonable and the shipping very prompt.

I actually bought two of these cameras on line. The first Camera and my very first e-Bay purchase was advertised as is by the seller. It showed a picture of the camera. When it arrived, I was suprised to find that it did not contain the battery or memory card. It was a good lesson in buyer beware. I was also shocked at the condition of the camera. It was covered by a sticky goo. I attempted to contact the seller and discuss my disappointment but they never replied.

Fortunately, I continued to search e-Bay for the missing parts, software, instructions, battery, etc. and soon found a seller who was advertising a complete camera kit and was very clear that the flash did not work but that the camera did. I purchased the second camera and it did have all the pieces the first was missing and performs exactly as advertised. I am now able to use both cameras and learned a very important lesson in chosing sellers on e-bay.

Given my status as a novice digital photograher, I really don't have a strong basis for comparision to other cameras. However, for the price, the compact size and relative easy of use, I am very pleased with my purchase. I am also pleased with the variety of additional accessories I find on e-Bay. I didn't expect to find it so easy to use!
