This is a very interesting movie. We love Orlando Bloom. The story line is a bit weak though the whole movie is great but the ending is very nonclimactic.

While the movie is not entirely accurate, the characters who are portrayed in the movie did live during that time and did participate in the siege and defense of Jerusalem. The movie has a lot of action and isn't over done. The characters are portrayed well and you even get a small history lesson. Over all is a good movie that deserves to be watched at least once.

The film is an incredible depiction of history repeating itself, I really wish George W. would have seen this film before he attempted to "finish his Daddy's Business" in Iraq. Futility of war, especially when religious overtones are thrown in are at the center of this great piece.

I like the fact that the item came fast. I want I dislike was the lack of description. There was a picture to see the item. The price was something I wish I shouldn't have paid. I brought this item because I wanted to see the extend version. I was very much disappoint when I saw the item. After, all I decide to keep it because I wasn't planning to use more money to send it back. Overall, I wish the seller would put move description. But I am happy with the item.

This to me is the greatest historical epic movie ever made that was made for itself and not a trilogy, series, etc. What I liked so much is not just the story and action and perfect lay out of talk, language, timing and directing of the movie, but also the "History Channels" take on Hollywood vs. History and other takes on the history of the events portrayed in this film. I fine DVD that I would strongly suggest you give a try to.

Hi, the movies are good.
Did not like to see that some were bought from a county library.
On the many movies I won the postage and handling charge was around
$ 36.00 (which was high)and the actual postage was $2.60.

It is authentic, somewhat true to history and the action and drama combination is great. Life in those ages were more intense for the children growing up religiously. The idea of all three religions co-existing in that era is disturbing because of the extremity of these different sects. Some were extreme, most, others just followed along just to survive. It gives me an interest in learning me of my heritage, and more in general about history.

this movie is a good movie, about a man trying to find is way,and redeem his dead wife, whom comitted suicied. he fights and loves. its a very good saturday night flick, with the popcorn.

I enjoyed this movie. I did not buy it for historical facts. If I wanted that I'd buy a historical film. I bought it for entertainment. The movie does stay close to actual facts, but it is meant for enjoyment which it did provide. The scenery was great, costumes were great and the battles were good also. I am by far no filming critic as to angles and such. I just want to be entertained, which I was. I have watched this movie several times and never get bored. Would recommend this movie.

I think this is a great movie for one who likes action, decent acting, and a good story. It is not historically acurate but a good movie to watch.

I guess I just expected too much before I watched this film. I am a student of medieval history, the crusades, and the Templars and I expected an intelligent film (which Ridley Scott usually produces). What I saw was an anti-war "epic" wanna-be.
The acting was OK. The battle scenes decent. The editing and camera work well done. The problem was the story. Historically, the film was surprisingly accurate, but the characters were not believable in this time period; specifically Orlando Bloom's character.
It was like a 20th (or now 21st) century man thrown in to a world of political, religious and social disorder. The time of the crusades was one of fanaticism based on beliefs that the only way to heaven was by being absolved of sin; the catholic church in their greed to rule the world, set out in a bloody conquest to destroy the Jews and Muslims in the Holy Land and the only way that they could get commoners to participate was to promise that heaven awaited them on the other side.
This was the dark ages (called that because it was before the age of enlightenment), a time when most people couldn't read, and even if they could, didn't have anything to read because everything was in latin, including the bible. People had to believe what the pope told them. If they didn't believe the pope, they had to do what their feudal lords told them to do (because the lords would have them arrested, killed, homeless, wifeless or childless if they didn't).
Essentially, this film tries to prove that men had free will in the dark/middle ages and history proves that this is not possible. Just as we cannot understand what it was like to live during the revolutionary war, the civil war, the hundred years war, or any other war from a previous time period, we cannot understand the massive, sweeping lack of power possessed by the individual during the time of the crusades. Only monarchs and clergy had power at this time and only they had the potential for understanding the political, religious climate of the day.
Even educated people of the time were stupid in the world of international relations because everything back then was based on personal greed, personal gain of the church and the monarchs.

Now, so far as those of you who claim that the movie is christian bashing, let me say this. DO SOME RESEARCH!!! The dark ages was a horrible time for the church, the catholic church especially. The church was controlled by evil men with agendas that did not include glorifying God. Heresy and Simony were rampant in and out of the church.

OK, so you don't care about the accuracy, and you just want a good action movie that takes place in the dark ages. Well then, this movie is for you.
It actually was a good movie with good acting and a good script. The problem that I have is that it just isn't believable with what I know about the time period. Had I not known about the time period, I probably would have rated the film higher.

So, in the end, what you have with this is a film that seems to be trying to make a point; that war is pointless. WELL, WE KNOW THAT. LOOK AT IRAQ AND AFGHANISTAN.

What I don't understand is why this movie was made. It is entertaining, but at what cost. It does nothing to explain the period, the mistakes of the past. It is propaganda. I know, I expect too much. I will grant you that. Do what you will with this review, but I was let down by this movie. Too bad, really. It could have been a great movie.

Unexpectedly excellent. Not my usual choice in movies, but I was into it from the first scene to the last. Watch it about 5 time already and know I will watch it again and again.

i liked this movie a lot because it explains a man that is truthful and that wants to find the right path in his life, and he does that by falling in love and his father making him the baron and soldier of Ibelin. he worked for his land and helped the people get food and water

When I watched this movie I found it hard to understand for about the first 20 minutes, then it got so much better farther into the movie. It really shows you that even now a days Christians, Muslims and Jews still have a hard time accepting each other. It is true that the Kingdom of Heaven is really in your Mind and Heart.

An excellent film about the city of Jeruselum back in 700 a.d.
It shows how one man can make a difference, a big difference
in the course of history. The first seller I bought this from
never shipped it, so I bought it twice, it's worth it.

I beleive this film should have been more widely recognized. I recommend it as a good historical & social presentation.
I wanted to see this for Orlando Bloom (mmm!). He was well utilized & not a huge distraction to the story; which I can appreciate.
I believe that it did not do well with the standard American viewing audience due to bad press it received due to it's Musulem story connection. Political Correctness need not have worried as Bloom's character was open to all people. ~~~JMH

If you enjoy movies such as Gladiator, Lord of the Rings, or Braveheart, you will absolutley love this movie. Kingdom of Heaven perfectly blends combat, emotion, and epic battles, into one brilliant movie. 5 out of 5!

It is like going to church. As a new Catholic this movie is both educational, entertaining and part of my life. I had a video of it from pay per view but the DVD is much better.
