Great Soundtrack for a wonderful movie.

King Creole has to go down in history as potentially Elvis' best movie. Which of course, is not saying much given his body of work, but KC is a really, really, really solid picture with a terrific supporting cast (Calrolyn Jones, Walter Matthau, Dolores Hart, Dean Jagger, and Jan Shepard), top notch director -- Michael Curtiz ("White Christmas", "Casablanca"), and really amazing music. It is one of the few occasions where music does not appear to be forced out of the need to sell records and contributes nothing else. The movie takes place in New Orleans and the music reflects that and sounds like no other Elvis movie before or after. The title song, "Trouble", "New Orleans" "Crawfish" are excellent in sound, melody, lyrics and Elvis does a terrific job performing them convincingly, passionately and beautifully. The album stands on its own as an independently good body of work. Highly recommended to all. Also, check out the tracks, which did not appear in the movie, especially "Danny". It said that “King Creole” was Elvis’ personal favorite of his own movies and the picture is worth seeing. The soundtrack is one of his best albums ever.
